ICONIC Protein Shakes, Café Latte

I am having some major surgery coming up. My doctor recommended a different drink (3 a day for 5 days before surgery - and 3 a day for 2 weeks after). Only problem is the protein drink he recommended was HORRIBLE. The 5th ingredient is anchovy paste!! It was truly awful and a hundred bucks for 12 drinks! So, I asked if I could sub out the awful, super expensive drink for these Iconic drinks. He agreed! I ordered the Iconic chocolate truffle, the caffe latte and the vanilla. Do you like chocolate milk?! Who doesn't, the chocolate truffle tastes like the best chocolate milk you've ever tried! When I drink the caffe latte I pour it over ice or blend with ice and it's like a really terrific iced coffee! The vanilla bean is as delicious as it sounds. And they all SMELL good too. Honestly. All of this, without anything that is bad for you and 20 grams of protein!! In fact my doctor says he will now recommend these drinks. When you HAVE to do a meal replacement drink - you have GOT to try these first! I am soooo grateful for them - for taste and cost! Plus they are shelf stable!!! So refrigerate as you need them! I would give these 10 stars if I could. Just ordered more. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. This is my #1 First choice for a protein shake! I am on a liquid protein diet right now and have tried MANY different shakes. I need to have high protein, low carbs, AND I can not tolerate artificial sweeteners. It's hard to find a drink that matches that criteria that doesn't get super high in calories or that doesn't taste nasty! These shakes are 130 calories, 20 grams of protein, 8 grams of carbs (3gr from sugar), lactose free and sweetened naturally with agave. That's like the perfect combo for me! I was so pleasantly surprised with I tried Iconic Lean Protein Shakes. I first tried the chocolate and I loved them. They tasted great, without that weird aftertaste that some give you. Then, I just bought the Cafe Au Lait. OMG! My new favorite! It tastes just like an iced coffee drink. I KID YOU NOT! I would easily compare it to the canned Starbucks iced coffee drinks. This has 20 grams of protein and much lower calories though. I loved it! BUT, do note that it has 180mg of Columbian coffee in it. So you might not want to drink lots of these in the afternoon if you don't want to stay up at night. It does have caffeine in the Cafe Au Lait version. Go to the chocolate or vanilla if you want to avoid that. I have also tried the vanilla. I am not a vanilla fan in any protein shake or milk shake for that matter. But...It was good. It had a nice vanilla-y flavor and didn't have an aftertaste. I'd still go for Chocolate or Cafe Au Lait first. The only downfall...the price. They work out to about $3/bottle. So I do have to limit how many of these I can do for that reason. If they were a bit cheaper by the case, I think I'd drink more of them. I'd also love it if they created an Iconic Lean Protein shake mix/powder that you could mix yourself. Hint...hint..

Tastes great. Like the no sugar and no carb as well as protein count.

I wish I had read the reviews before I made this purchase. I bought these in June 2025 and like some other reviewers said, there were large chunks of solid sludge in the bottoms of the bottles. Thankfully Amazon is wonderful and after an online chat and upload of a couple photos showing the bottle and sludge I was offered a refund. Aside from the gross sludge that no amount of shaking could break up, the taste has also changed since I last purchased these in the beginning of 2020. I used to love this brand I would get the cafe and a tumeric flavor. It seems like they are no longer making a lot of the flavors they once offered and the cafe ones were terrible. I have tried quite a few other brands and these were by far the worst. I was very disappointed because they were my favorite before. A combination of the sour taste and the sludge I am just not willing to try anything else from this brand. Thank you to Amazon for having convenient online customer service chat!

I love the caffe latte flavor and have one almost every day. I know that people taste things differently, but I don't think this tastes like plastic or medicine or any of the things people have mentioned in the negative reviews. I am not a coffee drinker though so I don't have real coffee to compare it to. Many other protein drinks have so many calories, and this one has 140 calories and 20 grams of protein which for me is a good calories to protein ratio. The chocolate flavor is OK, but I like the coffee one much better.

I put my previous review at the bottom because A: I feel it very important that someone know and remember how great this product was at least some time in 2018 and prior. B: So that maybe it can one day be there again and maybe, just maybe I got a bad case. Also I am a big fan of their customer service staff (Specifically Clayton or code name Clayton) and their ideals of giving back to the community when possible (Got a case of chocolate I didn't like and instead of shipping it back they suggested I give it to a homeless shelter and that is awesome!). Now 2019 I've been without my Iconic for months now, I don't know what I was thinking, I decided to order it again because I missed it so. Every single bottle has weird chunky stuff when you get to the bottom (Also seen in another comment). It's winter and it's not soured so I don't think it's a bad batch. I also shake it like it's a shake weight so that's not it either. I'm almost positive they changed something because the flavor is just not the same either. *Insert sadness here* It's still decent, it still keeps me full over half the day and I still drink it until I come across a chunk so there is that, but It did take my all of the stars rating down to only 3 of the stars. I got the chocolate as a safety net just an fyi it is horrible (if you are a fan of that chocolate water yoohoo; then chocolate may be the way to go), but this, this life changing nectar of the gods is AMAZING!!!! Honestly, Coffee Iconic is amazing. To begin with, it tastes awesome, like a melted plain coffee frappuccino; no icky protein drink aftertaste (you know what I'm talking about!). Then, it has ALL the things that one would want to see in a protein drink of their choice: 20g Protein, 130 calories, 3g sugar 200% B12, NO GMO, no Carrageen, no icky aspartame / sucralose. But here's the clincher... (at least for me) it has 180mg of caffeine per bottle!! Yasssss!!! One coffee Iconic gets me set for morning nutritional needs, and bless them, my caffeine as well. (I'm on a reduced calorie / sugar diet, and I love my coffee light and sweet.
