Great for splicing Rope
I liked everything about it except the belt clip. My prefreance is to keep it in my pocket not clipped to my belt. Ended up taking it off.

Really well made.
This knife is perfect for the uses I have for it. I inspect flooring of all types and this really works well for carpet inspections as the locking marlinspike doubles as an awl and tuck tool all in one. Serrated blade works really well for cutting off small samples of carpet also. Flat and small enough to be comfortably carried in a side pocket.

A well appreciated gift
I bought this knife for my son, a dedicated "blue water" sailor. He has used it for a few years, thinks it's very well made and useful. He would replace it if lost. I bought it for him after reading about every like-kind knife and it seemed to be the best. The knife and the marlin spike both lock open and although the spike lock leaves a bit to be desired it does work and the lock is a nice feature. J. H. Blatz

Great knife
Purchased this as a retirement gift so I don't know how it has performed but the overall look and quality was awesome for the price.

I like the company, but...
I loved the knife when I first got it. I am a deck seaman in the Coast Guard, so it was getting plenty of use doing what it was made to do. It feels pretty solid, the blade holds an edge well. But...Out of about 5 owners of this knife I know on my boat, at least 3 of them had the same issue as I did with the locking mechanism. It uses a thin leaf type spring that is milled out of the middle section of the knife and it likes to break giving you a knife that is pretty much useless. That would have given it 2 or 3 stars, however the company guarantees their products for life, so they are sending me a new one with the updated locking mechanism.Bottom line....buy their generation 2 knife.
