Print Matters: The Cutting Edge of Print

Beautiful examples of print, great source of inspiration!

As a designer myself, I'm always looking for sources of inspiration. I especially love printed materials, and this book showcases a great collection of printed work. As the title of this book states, print matters! Using different print techniques and materials make such a difference in how a concept comes together.This book is divided into 4 sections: Branding & Identities, Books & Pages, Posters & Invitations, and Products & Packages. There's also an index of icons that indicate the various printing and production techniques used on each project. There's 1 to 2 spreads dedicated to each project, a brief description, and the photographs are beautiful and detailed. I do wish that some projects had more photographs.One could easily go online and get a ton of inspiration, but I like that this is a collection of solid work from around the world. There's good work you could've easily missed online (or possibly ones that are not submitted online). Even if a lot of these projects are not applicable to what you may be doing, it's still wonderful to see the possibilities of print, and the clever solutions designers come up with!I took off the jacket for easier reading, and turns out the black paper on the book loves fingerprints. :( Overall though, this is a great addition to my Victionary and Art + Design collection.
