ADJ Products MISTER-KOOL-II Grave Yard Low Lying Water Based Fog Machine

I use this guy with fog juice that is formulated for low-lying fog and regular water-based ice for my Halloween laser display. I live in a 6A USDA hardiness zone, so our weather is usually in the 45°-55°F range on Halloween and I would say the effect is moderate compared to what I've seen achieved in warmer climates. I'm still plenty satisfied with how the lasers interact with the fog from this machine and I get lots of compliments from the trick-or-treaters and their parents. In one night, I use about 16 pounds of ice and half a gallon of fog juice. The ice needs a refill every 45 minutes and the juice every 90 minutes on the continuous setting. I love this product and definitely recommend it for my use case, but I'll highlight the drawbacks just to give a more complete picture. Firstly, fog juice is basically unflavored vape juice. This will affect people with respiratory issues. The access to the ice chamber is kind of a pain because you have to screw the handle for quite a while. Of course, it requires semi-frequent attention for fresh ice and fog juice as previously mentioned. The controller is unintuitive in terms of user feedback, but works fine once you dial it in. I can't wholly weigh in on the drain because I just let it run off onto the ground, but the included water bag seemed pretty small. Emptying the fog juice reservoir is not at all convenient if you want to run a cleaning solution through the fogger. Also, I did try to use this machine indoors once and it put off way too much fog on the lowest setting, so beware of that too. Still, I'd buy this again in a heartbeat. UPDATE (2025): After 4 seasons of use, the pump died, which is a bit disappointing for a machine at this price point. I'm a little handy and it was relatively easy to replace myself. I also took the opportunity to put in a longer hose, so now I can run it directly into the gallon container of juice instead of the small reservoir it comes with. I also decided to try using dry ice this year. I was only able to get blocks and it ran through less than two 10lb blocks over the trick-or-treat window. I broke the blocks up into chunks using a hammer. The low fog effect was much better with the dry ice, but eventually water-based ice condensed inside the machine from the fog itself and clogged the usual airflow path. I was able to keep the fog flowing by propping up the lid and allowing it to escape that way.

Incredible output! Almost couldn’t believe it. Filled my front yard with a great low lying fog - in fact, it did so well I was worried someone might think the house was on fire.

I ordered this for a oldies disco party and followed all instructions using the Froggys Swamp juice brand fog juice and ensuring the ice compartment was full and the drain bag set up properly. I tested it the day of the party for about 10 minutes and it worked perfectly. On the night of the party I set it with the timer to come on for about 30 seconds every 5 minutes. After the second or third fogging it stopped working. When I checked the machine the panel at the back was very hot. I plugged it out for about a half hour and plugged it back in after ensuring that the fog juice and ice compartment were full and the drain bag was operational. When plugged back in, the fan comes on but there is no fog. After about 30 seconds the rear panel gets extremely hot, forcing me to plug it out again. I tried this twice with the same result and ended up not being able to use the machine for the party. Very disappointed as I am in Jamaica and I am sure I will have no recourse to get a refund or a replacement machine. Would not recommend this to anyone.

Based on the existing reviews of this product, I was very skeptical - especially at the price point. I was pleasantly surprised, however at how easy it was to use and how much fog it produced in such a short amount of time. In less than 2 minutes, the entire space was completely full (probably about 800 square feet). I didn't have any problems with leaking or with the set up or use. It worked exactly as I had expected. I picked this one because it had a place to put ice and I was looking for low laying fog, which it did nicely. Because it was indoors, however, it didn't stay low for long. Once it warmed up to room temp and got kicked around, it quickly filled up the entire space, which was fine, it completely evaporated within 15 minutes. At one point, we left the machine on for a few minutes to see what would happen and it got so dense that it was difficult to see just a few feet in front of you. It set off my smoke detectors, but that's only because we were really pushing it. There were no issues with the smoke detectors when we were using it a little at a time. All in all, I'd say this would be a great fog machine for an outdoor fog effect. It'll definitely work indoors, but you really aren't going to get good low laying fog for long indoors.

Holy Smokes! I was running a haunted house this halloween, and wanted to be sure that we had the right machine to make the ambiance (and cover) that we needed, and BOY did this machine come through. Used with a fair amount of dry ice that easily fits int the front chamber, and high quality fog juice (we used Froggy's Swamp), you can set this bad boy to pump out a fantastic ground fog that will roll a constant ground cover for a good six hours. In fact, I have enough Swamp juice to go two more Halloweens, and we had fog that went up and down the street! We used a run of LED blacklight strips under the area that the fog started to roll downhill, and the effect was Hollywood level fog. This really brought the whole haunted house together, and we heard nothing but praise for the event, and amazement at the fog. Cleaning is a snap, and the controls, while short on cord length, are so simple to use. On our dry run, we experimented with intervals, and with dry ice levels, and you really can customize the amount and type of fog this machine will produce.

Good machine. Only thing is the water dont always go out the pipe. It’s been coming out the fan so clearly it’s not water proof!
