Sturdy and great
Purchased this for my 13 year old nephew and this has been great in his mathematics studies.

Simple to use
I've had this calculator for about 5 years, and only had to replace it because the two small button-type batteries in it finally died. It had a small cover that could be opened for battery replacement, but the cost of two new batteries was less than the cost of the new calculator. This new one is almost exactly identical to the old one, except it doesn't have the battery access cover. I imagine I could replace the batterie sin the new one by removing six tiny screws and opening the entire back of the unit, if needed. I am a recently retired engineer, and used the calculator daily since I bought it. It is a lot simpler to use then many high-priced calculators from well known manufacturers. If you don't need graphing functions, this one is a good deal.

Best bang for buck
It’s perfect! I know you can get cheaper calculators at the dollar tree etc but it has lots of functions. It’s perfect for math and science classes. It’s a scientific calculator and doesn’t do graphing in case you were wondering. I use it to calculate formulas for pharmacology and physiology classes at school for the nursing program. It comes with a nice case as well. The “Log” button is the most handy for me. This works the best!

RCL feature not normal
I give this Helect calculator 4 stars because it is a pretty good clone of a Casio Scientific calculator, like the Casio FX 300MSPLUS2 - very similar. (So for about the same money, why not get the name brand?) The screen is pretty readable if you look straight down on the calculator, but looking from below (like when it is flat on a desk in front of you) the readability deteriorates with angle and the character background matrix starts showing. In comparison, the Casio FX-115es plus 2nd edition has blue characters on a bluish-greenish screen - less readable in my opinion. The Helect's buttons are a little loose feeling but seem to work fine. But I found one strange behavior with the RCL memory function that caused me to send it back. I compared it to my FX-115es Plus 2nd edition which works as I expect. So it may be a small bug or variation in the Helect, not a show-stopper if you are attentive, but it tripped me up so back it goes. Here's what the RCL button seems to do on the Helect: First I store two values, .05 in memory X and .02 in memory Y. Then I press "RCL X + RCL Y =" and it gives me .07, what I expect. Then I press "RCL Y + RCL X =" and it gives me something like .12 ! On my FX115, both operations give me .07, as I expect. The explanation seems to be that on the second calculation, when I press RCL Y and it displays ".02", it isn't putting .02 in the ANS memory - instead, it holds onto the last ANS which was .07. Then when I press " + RCL X", it adds X (.05) to .07, the old answer. Now there are several workarounds. If you try "RCL Y = + RCL X =" I think it works -- the extra "=" forces Y into the ANS memory. Also, if you use the Alpha key to access the variables directly, such as:"Alpha X + Alpha Y =" followed by "Alpha Y + Alpha X", both computations give .07 . Using the alpha key seems to bypass the ANS memory and the problem doesn't come up.Bottom line: the Helect works slightly differently than the Casio regarding the RCL button, and I'll stick with Casio for consistency for now. Also I'll mention, the Amazon truck had no air conditioning and everything in the order was roasting hot, probably over 115 deg F. The Helect didn't turn on. I removed the batteries and saw corrosion on one terminal. Cleaning it restored power, but left me with a bad feeling.

Nice Low Cost Calculator
This is a perfectly good low end calculator. It has all the functions one needs to get through high school and probably well into college. It does trig, log and so on. It has a two line LCD, lots of buttons and everything else one might expect. Yes, you can pay more and get something fancier, but I've been quite satisfied.

Great Technology at a Great Price
What I like best about this is all of the technology available today for such an economical price. The thing I liked least was that the manual does not tell us what type of battery is required. (At least I did not see a battery number mentioned. I could have missed it.) Therefore the unit would need to be opened in order to determine the battery replacement. Otherwise, great!

Have batteries and small screwdriver handy.
I have not been able to use this calculator yet but I am giving it 1 star based on my experience thus far. When I received it the battery was dead which is not a huge deal. I did not have a small enough screw driver so I did have to go to the store to purchase one. Before heading to the store I checked the manual to see what battery it required. As picture shows manual states it requires a AA battery so that is what I purchased. I got home and opened the back which revealed that it did not infact use AA but LR44 batteries. I am now having to go to the store a second time to hopefully get this calculator to work. Yes this calculator is inexpensive but I still expected to receive it in a working condition.
