13 Gallon Automatic Touchless Sensor Kitchen Trash Can with Odor Filter Kit, Oval Shape, Stainless Steel Garbage Bin

I rarely write reviews but I did a lot of research on automatic garbage cans so I wanted to share my thoughts for others deciding on a brand to use. I've had this can for about 2 weeks now and I abaolutely love it! I've wanted an automatic can for a long time so when I finally decided to get rid of our broken step can, I started doing some research. I saw that many of the other brands on the market had overall good reviews but a lot of people mentioned they stopped working after only a short time. This brand didn't have quite as many reviews, but the overall consenus was very positive, and so I purchased this can with the adapter.I've only had it for a short time but it responds flawlessly. If you keep your hand above the sensor, it will stay open as you put trash into it and then shut when you move away.I bought the bundle that included the adapter, so I cannot speak towards the battery life. I think leaving it plugged in is probably the best idea, rather than having to worry about the battery dying.I really don't have any complaints so far. It was packaged nicely and came in perfect condition. Would definitely recommend to others who are on the market for an automatic garbage can!

Like being able to open without hands, although the dog has also figured out how to do it as well. Seems a bit smaller than other 13 gallon cans but overall, pleased with the purchase.Works by plugging into an outlet. Also allows gor manually opening and closing with buttons on the top under the lid.

I want so badly to like this garbage can. It worked great the first month I had it! I thought I finally found the perfect sensored garbage can until is started to malfunction. First it overheated and smoke started coming out of the back so I immediately turned it off. After it no longer would turn back on or work so I called Customer Service who may I add was very good. I was very pleased with how easy it was to get in touch with customer service. They sent me a replacement lid with to my luck did not work. :( The sensor would just continuously run so I called back and they sent me a second replacement with to my luck wouldn't turn on at all! I tried resetting the sensor like they prompted me to do with no luck . So I called customer care again and they sent me a third lid hoping 3 times would be a charm and this lid also malfunctions. :( It was an amazing product when it actually worked but I haven't had good luck with mine I guess. I do love the shape of the can though - not a lot of the automatic cans have the oval design which it fits easily in areas.

I liked this a lot more when I stopped using the included adapter plug (which awkwardly sticks out from wall and awkwardly plugs into trashcan though it did work) and just bought some "D" Cells which I hope will last a good while. Just looks so much nicer and can sit closer to wall without the flimsy connector poking out the back.Others have complained about the sensor being too sensitive and I've seen that on occasion but overall it is almost exactly what I'd like.Others have complained that it is flimsy and bends easily, but unless someone kicks it, sits on it, or way overstuffs their trash I think it is fine; we've had no problems with it's sturdiness after months.While the barrel is a nice stainless (or faux?) steel finish, the lid is black plastic and painted silver which doesn't look great, though passable.One issue I just ran into is that we had a punctured bag and some veggies that decomposed into liquid slop the last time and leaked into the bottom. If something *only* leaks into the very bottom plastic which has a small lip you are okay if you wipe it up without going to the sides. In our case some of the smelly liquid went down the sides and I found out that the bottom is *NOT* sealed. So to get the slop out I actually had to unscrew the base and wash all the pieces separately then put it back together. The bottom sides *SHOULD* be sealed or removal should be made much simpler.

After having looked at a few different trash cans, I decided on this one and this has not disappointed me.What is great and different abt this one as compared to the rest:a) wheels - none others has wheels that can easily help move the trash can aroundb) charger - no battery needed, ever. Save on $ and environment.c) For a 13+ gallon, it is shorter, and this is because the body itself is the same size from top to bottom.d) this is the only trash can with odor defender!e) if the sensor becomes less sensitive, all that is needed is reset the sensor by unplugging the charger from the trash can for 2 hrs and the trash will work beautifully again.I am definitely happy with this purchase.

Pros:1. I love that it can be plugged in vs. a battery powered lid. This one has both!2. Sensor works great. Just place your hand over the sensor (dont wave) and it opens for a decent amount of time.3. Stainless steel looks nice and is easy to cleanCons:1. though it is technically a 13 gallon bin, it "feels" smaller than other 13 gal bins.2. Items larger than the opening require taking the lid off. The lid cover is adequate for most items, but for some requires taking the lid off.3. the ring holding the bag just doesn't work the greatest. It requires pulling the bag out further than the ring, exposing the top of the bag outside of the lid. Not the greatest look. But its fine for me.At this price point, getting a sensor can I would recommend but if you are looking for a perfect bin, probably its worth spending more money if the things I listed above are important to you.

Opens with just a wave of your hand and then closes! Just plug it up and wave your hand over the light and it opens for you to put your trash inside then closes!

This garbage can works great, when I've got my hands full I no longer have to step on the pedal, the lid automatically opens. How nice.

Great purchase. I had a square shaped can and it proved very difficult to remove the bag once filled. This one is very easy. And I don’t need batteries Love it.The only con: when the lid shuts it’s aggressive! No slow mode. Really don’t like the sound.

I’m so happy with this purchase that I decided to give a recommendation. Easy to clean, don’t have to change bags very often which was for me very painfull in the past and it does not smell which I thought it might be an issue with bic can. I really recommend to buy adapter instead of batteries. Great product, looks nice and it is worth to spend money on!

The hands free is very useful. Make sure you have a plug near where you want to put it.
