Chopin: Nocturnes for Piano Solo | Henle Urtext Sheet Music Collection (With Fingerings) | Romantic Masterpieces for Recital and Study | Multilingual ... French, German) (Multilingual Edition) Review: Complete set of Nocturnes in a well edited, well bound volume - This hard-cover edition is well worth it. I like the binding of the book, the quality and layout of the pages and the editing. The notes inside are also a welcome feature. If you are a fan of Chopin nocturnes, this is the best edition that I have played from. Review: Get the Hardcover!!! - This is the first time I've bought a hardcover piano book and I am so glad I did! Most of the sonata/sonatina/nocturne/etc. books I have became really raggedy and torn up fairly quickly, a couple of them even had the front cover torn off even though they weren't old by any means. Would you believe that books bound together by three staples don't last long? 💀 This book, however, seems like it'll last me quite a while. Not only does it look super classy (it kinda reminds me of those fake prop books at furniture stores that have nothing in them lol) but it's also sturdy and able to be laid flat open on my music stand! Needless to say, I will most likely buy another hardcover book from this company after finishing this one 😌

love Henle editions
it's Henle.. of course it's excellent! Good quality paper, clear and well-spaced printing, binding easily stays open, and care has been taken regarding where to put the page turns. Replacing my 35 year old Paderewski edition.. which was also great, but this Henle is better in the qualities I mentioned above.

Received immediately and undamaged
This book is well recommended. I received it immediately in Very good condition. Looking through it as compared to the Schirmer Book of Nocturnes - the nocturnes are the same except - the men who put fingerings are different. Also I have noticed that sometimes there are sections that the treble clef and bass clef are written just a bit different so you are automatically routed to bring out the melody or even a harmony in a different way. I 've just received this 1/12/21 and I have not tried to play or practice any of the new sections. Excited to see if the recommendations are correct about this addition compared to the Schirmer addition. I'm not a professional, these Nocturnes are very advanced for me but I enjoy them so much and I enjoy spending time practicing so that they give me pleasure and my family who hear me play!

The Henle Urtext edition is a fantastic edition of Chopin's Nocturnes
The Henle Urtext edition is a fantastic edition of Chopin's Nocturnes. The binding is great and the printing quality is top of the line. Editorial commentary is valuable and adds to the quality of the edition. I had previously worked with the Schirmer edition, which is fine but nowhere near as high a quality of book as the Urtext. If you need to save money go with Schirmer, but if you want a quality book you can work with for years to come this is the top of the line and well worth the extra bucks.

Great Edition, but the Book was Bent
I absolutely love this edition of the nocturnes. The text is bold and easily readable, the paper feels nice in your fingers, and the binding of the book is that old style that you can't seem to find anymore. Overall, the book itself gets 5 stars. However, when I received the book, it had clearly been bent in transit to me. Now, when I have the book open on the stand, it sits awkwardly. For an edition this nice, for which one is paying nearly $30, I found it a little annoying that it wouldn't be packaged in a way that would prevent its bending (ie. a slim box instead of an envelope). While this detail would not stop me from recommending this edition to others, I think that it is definitely something to be considered when one is purchasing this book.
