I agree with all the other positive reviews. Really good pencils at a great price. Im a fan of adult coloring. My needs are pencils that easily lay down colors with a good variety of colors. Nothing bothers me more than having to use 3 or more repeated strokes over the same line in order to get a complete color. Ive tried 6 different brands and so far and Castle is my preference. To me Prismacolor smears too much for the high price. Faber-Castle are great but too expensive for an amateur coloring book hobbyist. The other less expensive brands are hard and waxy and leave blotchy patches that look like they aren't even colored. It takes a great amount of pressure and multiple strokes to lay down color on the paper. This makes my hands and wrists hurt. Might as well use kids Crayola Pencils or the cheap Rose brand. The softer texture of the Castle Pencils take less pressure, blend easier and give a smooth line. My hands dont fatigue as much. I get good color coverage and a great price!

After some research into colored pencils, I decided to try these. I was looking for pencils that can layer, can blend without muddying, are highly pigmented, are visible on a black background, don’t smear, and aren’t outrageously expensive. These pencils have so far shown to be excellent in all of those areas. The color on the barrel is very accurate to the color the pencil produces, they are easy to use for fine detail, and the size of this box makes it possible to create any color you might want.

These are excellent colored pencils!! they draw extremely smoothly and they survived falling on the ground multiple times from my cats. one of the pencils (#028) had a bit of another color in it which caused it to be streaked, but it is not very noticeable. the colors are very bright and there is a very large selection to choose from. the case arrived dented, but was overall in good shape.

Great product for the price. Creamy and blendable. Beautiful colors. No need to spend a lot on other brands. And, They don’t break when I sharpen them!

I received a set of these colored pencils and found the cores were broken. I contacted the company intending to return them for another set. The company told me to keep the damaged pencils and immediately sent me another set at no cost. The customer service is outstanding! As always, I made a color swatch sheet of the pencil colors. This is important as some colors are different than shown. There are a nice amount in each color family, three grays, one black and one white. The lack of grays didn’t bother me as I have several from another brand which I use as needed. These pencils are not sold open stock, if you use up your favorite colors you’ll need to purchase another complete set. I believe I read the company may be offering a larger set in the future. They come in a metal tin, secure in plastic trays. Mine came with a foam piece inside the tin to further protect the pencils. The pencils are terrific. They are vibrant in color, blend easily, and are a very high quality pencil at a fantastic price. The only minor issue I have with the pencils is they are not numbered. This was easily corrected by adding the numbers myself. While I find Prismacolor pencils more creamy, the cost difference alone has made Castle Art colored pencils my new favorite brand. They are long lasting, sharpen well, are vibrant without much pressure needed, and are a great value. I highly recommend them.

Love these pencils. The colors are gorgeous and they are wonderful to color with. I especially love the Color Pencil Tester Sheet so I can have a reference for each pencil, but what is up with the order they are in on the card? 1-11, then 20, 19-16, 12-14, etc.

Der absolute HAMMER!!! Diese Stifte sind bis jetzt die allerbesten Buntstifte, die ich je hatte und das zu einem Knaller Preis. Sie sind soft weich lassen sich super verblenden und sehen unglaublich brillant aus und mit 72 Farben decken Sie die ganze Palette ab. Sie sind so gut, dass ich mir überlege noch, ein Set zu kaufen, aber auf jeden Fall werde ich es mir kaufen, wenn die Stifte zu Ende gemalt sind. Ich möchte keine anderen mehr. Ich will fast sagen, dagegen kommen alle Polychromos und Carand’achs der Welt nicht mit. Ein dickes Lob an die Hersteller und die Spitzen brechen auch nicht ab. Da ich einen sehr guten elektrischen Spitzer besitze. Alles toll weiter so

Son unos lápices de gran calidad a un precio muy bueno. Son bastante blandos pero no demasiado. Consiguen una saturación cromática bastante rápida si presionas un poco más. La paleta de color está peor estructurada en la zona de los matices azules y verdes, abunda en colores oscuros muy próximos en tono (claro-oscuro) y se echan en falta más tonos medios y claros. El color de testigo de la base se corresponde mal con el color propio de la barra y vendría bien que estuviesen al menos numerados para poder relacionarlos con la carta guía que se puede hacer uno mismo (adjunto la que hice yo). La caja metálica es negro mate al igual que los lápices pero debería tener un poco más de anchura para disponer unas ranuras que permitan acomodar bien los lápices y que no se monten entre sí como ocurre. Los lápices tienen un acabado muy bueno y un tacto muy agradable, la madera que usan, ignoro cual, es de una fibra fina y compacta y permite un cono de afilado muy liso, sin astillado. La barra me responde muy bien al afilador, no se me ha roto ninguna y los he afilado todos dos o tres veces ya. Añado una copia/versión de este Van Gogh. Los colores cálidos rojo-amarillos se consiguen fácil y rápido, son más problemáticos los tonos azul pálido de las paredes porque el azul más claro disponible es todavía oscuro y hay que trabajar más fusionando con blanco insistentemente. Los azules intensos de las puertas sin embargo se consiguen fácilmente.
