I don't know if it's treated.There is an expected slight smell which is pleasant..I don't know about the issue with birds.I bought it as an alternative to non-recyclable present wrapping.

Q: Is this cord waterproof

It’s just strong hemp cord it’s not thick rope it’s very strong and suitable for out doors but it will get wet but still stay strong
