Literally fell apart after 1 year, base completely disintegrated.

Great antenna after you add your own whip, mine was delivered with no Stainless Steel whip. I used a stainless whip from an older antenna because I needed to make a road trip and wanted to have the President McKinley and President Montana combo operational. I at first thought that the whip had been lost but the packaging clearly had no space for a whip, base and loaded portion only.After a major trimming of the older whip I was able to get the SWR down to 1:1 thanks to the great SWR feature on the McKinley.I am able to get out much further with this combo compared to my older antenna/ radio combo on transmit. SSB and weather stations are clear with good distance.Five stars for the performance... three stars for the description and lack of a Stainless whip.
