Absolulty great razor!!
So, I typically use Dovo and theirs issard razors for reference ( got this as a gift). I know the straight razor world warns and warns against Chinese straight razors but this thing is awesome. If you can properly strop a razor you can get this thing to shave as good as a $300 razor right out of the box, no honing required. I also really like the Spanish point but that’s definantly not for everybody and should deter non-experienced users as you will get yourself good. It’s also got a nice weight to it which means it takes zero pressure while shaving, which I really like. This razor has completely changed my mind about gold dollar razors and makes me wonder why I spend upwards of $300 on some of the other “luxury” razors I have. If stropping isn’t your strong point I could see how this razor would seem not that great but, good stripping technique is essential to a perfect shave anyway. You absolutely can not go wrong for the money here.

Wow, im impressed
For a $24 razor it did a good job. I was going to dull it and 4000/8000 pyramid it back but decided to just strop it and roll with it. The French tip on the razor gouged my strop. I dulled the tip on a window sill and it still gouges a little.Lather up with my favorite summer shave soap Frost Byte and hope for the best. First swipe, I'm expecting this razor to pull and it doesn't. I'm watching the point bc I had a red nymph that used to shred my face. Second and third pass no pull and I haven't cut myself. Wipe my face with cold water and throw on some lucky tiger Aspen.I say all this for entertainment value (hopefully lol) and that I believe this is a good razor. I was on the SR forums when gold dollar hit the scene and it wasn't pretty. I haven't picked up a Gd bc of that. I may not ever get another one but I'm impressed with this razor. Other than it gouging my strop. So grab one, strop it and enjoy.

This is a great razor if you're looking to give yourself tetanus
This is a great razor if you're looking to give yourself tetanus. I opened the package yesterday and the blade was completely rusted over. If I could give this negative stars I would.

Very sharp and needed clean-up
This razor came very sharp and needed a little touch-up on a hone , and strop. I use alcohol and mineral oil to sterilize. The wood stain seems to be alcohol based , and seeped out. I soaked in alcohol for 30 min. to remove most of the stain. Very good price for this razor. Shaved very good. Gential smile and sharp point (Beware of the point ). I'm very happy with my new razor. The wood stain is the only thing that is a issue, after soaking the wood has a very good grain pattern. The stain gums up the pivot pin. Once free from the excessive stain, razor opened and closed easily, I tightened the pin and now it works perfectly. A very good platform for a good shave. Not for a first time straight user. But good results for the experienced.

Not Worth Your Money
I bought it thinking it would be good practice instead of buying a very expensive razor at first. Honestly its not of good quality but I should have known that based on the price. I find it very dull though, not a good shave, I have used a strop on it for days and not better. It would need to be honed and sharpened first in my opinion. Keep you money and invest in a quality razor. I just bought a good razor and will use this one on a wet stone and hope for the best.

Great initial impressions
This review is my initial impression. I will update when I put my edge on this and shave with it. First of all the quality is close to top notch unlike their earlier models like the 66 and 208 which were/are cosmetic nightmares. I do not think I will have to modify this blade to hone. (Grind the heel)First off it's a beautiful razor. It has a style and feel of 300-700 dollar blades and this thing costs like 30 bucks. Leagues above their previous attempts. This razor and their newest additions are now truly the best bang for the buck. Even though those previous models needed some grinding for function they all shave excellent on par with my best razors. The steel on the 66 and 208 is high quality and despite the snobs out there take an incredible edge. This has real wood scales and the balance and design of the razor is perfect. It has a metal spacer which adds enough weight to achieve this. It feels REALLY good in the hand and is both functional and beautiful. There were a couple scratches and the polish of the blade is not top notch but close. I have one complaint and really only one. The spine appears to be too thin for this razor to take an edge without more than one piece of electrical tape. I hope the company fixes this in the future. But I will see this weekend how hard it is to set a bevel and how the edge holds up with one or two pieces. The w59 comes with what appears a bevel set and some initial honing. I don't believe it is shave ready. Hopefully this model will live up to the rep of the cheaper versions. Like I said I will keep everyone posted.Update: I honed it and shaved today. Have to say it took an incredible edge. I use synthetics up to the gok 20k. It did need three layers of 3M electrical tape however to get a good edge geometry. It was a little slippery without jimps. Also a very light razor I like a little more heft. Stropping was not pleaseant as that spike tip tried to damage my strop. The shave went well though. So over all the blade will take a really good edge typical of my other razors. However I would deem this razor not very practical. Stropping is very difficult and it effects how long I can keep an edge I noticed that the tip wasn't stropped well as I was trying not to tear up the leather. I would look into their new line of razors but stick with the traditional shapes. They all seem to be well made now as I bought their new red wood scaled razor which I will write a review. I would say avoid this one unless they jimp it and add a little weight and thickness to the spine. It is a pretty razor however and it shaves well when honed properly. Therefore I will keep the three star rating for now.

nice razor and very sharp
Received on time without issue, nice razor and very sharp, it was shave ready. Two things I find odd about this razor which likely explain the modest price. 1) The fit and finish of the blade steel is odd, the grinds are uneven and unrefined around the spine, tang and slightly around the pointed tip. 2) There is a laser etched logo on the side of the blade which reads "GoldDollar of classic quality" This is printed off center and is two rows long, so not very pretty and doesn't make sense. Now, would I buy it again, absolutely, will it shave perfectly fine, indeed. Bottom line, for the price I paid, I am very satisfied and proud to own it.
