Nice, durable energy efficient floor lamp
While helping my mom move to a new place I noticed the new place doesn't come with overhead lighting already installed in the bedroom so I had to give a couple of my lamps to her and started looking for a floor lamp. After reading the reviews I decided to give this one a try. I was pleasantly surprised to receive the package 3 to 5 days ahead of the estimate and the package arrived in pristine condition to boot! Another surprise was that Amazon used its own box to contain an already sturdy box from the seller so kudos to Amazon for the attention to detail and I must mention the entire operation including the delivery driver did a very professional job of handling the package so the contents were in no danger of being damaged during shipment. Upon opening the floor lamp's box, I found that the contents were well protected by styrofoam and cardboard spacers, so much so I don't think I can pack it back properly if I ever have to return it. That was the only negative I found. A lot of protective plastic sleeves and bags were used so there is no danger of the parts hitting or scratching each other during shipping. A simple assembly guide was included but unnecessary because I've assembled my share of Ikea floor lamps in the past. Because of my pet peeves, I prefer not to rip the protective plastic covering the lamp and the pole sections so while assembling, I challenged myself and succeeded in removing the protective plastic intact after doing some mind gymnastics and with some ingenuity. This exercise would be a fun challenge to teach young people problem solving skills which I know many can use these days.I picked the brushed nickel color because it looked contemporary and would not look out of place anywhere in the house. The power cord is pretty long so that is a plus. The light output is really good for its size. It can light up a relatively large kitchen area or workstation quite nicely. The light was surprisingly bright with natural tone, even spread from center to edge without any obvious hot-spot, and reproduced color well in comparison to the cold fluorescent light. So for anyone who needs a natural light that reproduce color accurately this lamp would be a good fit. I think the colder light temperatures such as fluorescent or computer monitor backlight contain more blue light which would be more damaging to the eyes so get blue-light protection cover for the monitors or get anti blue-light eye glasses whenever possible. The zooming action from flood to focused beam is really smooth and I like the way it works because it works the same way as my EDC flashlight except much smoother, with very high quality feel. While the flood setting would weaken the over-all brightness of course you can fix that when you have the lamp directed closer to what you're working on, a solder job, or fixing the nails for the ladies, for example. One special feature I really liked that stood out from all the other lamps that I have ever owned is that this lamp can point anywhere you want with limitless applications, and on focused mode you can blind someone's eyes if necessary. Not sure if it's a psychological thing or not but the way this lamp is designed makes the entire thing seem small and thus portable because it doesn't have the big ugly lamp shade the old floor lamps used to have so I found myself actually move it between my study to my workbench a lot without complaint given the high cost of electricity. I try to limit my use of the ceiling lights since they use a lot more electricity than just a single floor lamp. If the wattage is as the seller claims then it will shave a lot off the electric bill. After using this lamp for more than a week I definitely recommend this floor lamp which seems well constructed and I'm sure will last for years while saving me money.

2yr Review: Failing Memory, Angry Cats, Security Cam alerts.. but the Light is Awesome!!
We technically own 2 of these lights now, as a panic buy lead to us having a 2nd. We purchased the 1st one on Oct 8, 2023. It sits between 2 recliners and has been on almost 24 hrs/day every single day. We noticed over time it started to dim and had thought about getting a replacement but had put it off as it was still a nice warm color and while not a bright was working just fine. A week ago, while out of town, I started to get flooded with security notices. At first I couldn’t figure out what was setting them off, there was no motion. Then I noticed..the light was blinking on and off then finally off for good. Panic set in, this little light has been the cornerstone of the living room, used daily for an ambient light or zoomed in on a project. We need this light. I immediately ordered the exact same one to replace it, hoping it would beat us home. The thought of having to use the ugly fan light thing was not something we wanted to do. It arrived the day after we got home, thank goodness!! As I go to move the old one out and put the new one in, I think, oh, I’ll just connect the new lamp to the old lamp cord (there’s a DC/AC point of connection) and this way I don’t have to dig under the console table to unplug it at the outlet. I do this and lo and behold the new light doesn’t power on. Nooooo!! Don’t panic.. think!! Maybe the light was fine and the cord was an issue, so I go to unplug the original light cord from the outlet and feel mangled cordage. Apparently the cats (who have never chewed a cord) had snacked on it, likely out of spite for leaving them for a week with less than adequate treat distribution. (Next review Anti-Chew cord covers..) Anyway, sure enough when I use the new cord on the new light, it fires right up - and BRIGHT.. geeze I’d forgotten ours had dimmed over the years (or so I thought, turns out we were the dim ones!). I tried the new cord on the old light and Surprise, it worked too. This is when I remembered, oh yeah, it has a dimmer feature - press/hold the little button and it brightens or dims. Turns out our 2 yr old, always on, light was just as bright as the new one, we must’ve slowly pressed it dimming it over time and never realized it. So after all this turns out we didn’t need the new one, because the old one is just as good as the day we got it. Apparently our memory is not. And so long as we keep the cats happy in the future, we expect it to last a good long while. In the mean time, I spliced the 6” of chewed up cord back together and plan to use the “spare” in the shop. Happy accident when all is said an done.Maybe there will be a 5 yr review… only time (and cats) will tell.

Yellowish light
I should love this lamp. It is substantial. It is remarkable easy to assemple. It allows a broad beam and a pointed beam, excellent for reading and small crafts. The dimmable feature is outstanding. But ... a design flaw. The light bulb is set about a quarter of an inch inside the brass holder. As a result, the light is slightly yellow. If you need a bright white, you are outof luck. Also, whether broad or focused, the circumference of the circle of light is highlighted in yellow. One gets used to it, but I would rather just have the light. For the money, it is still and excellent choice, but with a little more care in design, it would have been spectacular.

Great for reading
This light is very bright. The lamp is well designed and sturdy and tucks away unobtrusively in the smallest of spaces. The metal construction keeps it from falling over. As my eyesight is fading, I am so happy for the brightness. A whole new light on my reading and craft work.
