This keyboard fit just like the original HP one and the connections were identical. The backlight works fine and all keys work fine. The only thing wrong with it is the pointer nub doesn't actually move the pointer, but, I mean, who still uses those? Not me! Odds are I just messed up seating a ribbon cable. In any event, I'd recommend this to breathe new life in your old G6.

It worked well for a month and a half or so. But then the buttons stopped working. The trackpad still works and the left / right clicks work but no buttons and no pad pointer. It also doesn't quite fit in it's space, very close but it has a small hump in the keyboard that moves a little when you type. The track pad is wired through the keypad for some reason. The first one the keyboard worked but the trackpad and all the buttons didn't work.
