This book is a good combination of research and pratice. The information is based on solid research (all the references are cited) but gives a very practical approach on intervention. Very well written.

This book gives a lot of insight into the pitfalls of the bystander effect and the potential positive impact that can arise as you develop your awareness of what happens when you empower the bystander in an educational setting. It's a great book to be used with all levels of staff in schools for professional development. What's great about the book is that you don't have to read it from cover to cover, instead you are able to complete a set of questions in the introduction of each chapter that helps you to decide whether or not your staff needs that intervention. Each chapter ends with an action item and a reflection question. A very useful tool to have for reducing bullying.
