This isn't a backup generator. It gives you time to shut things off correctly
This isn't a backup generator. It gives you time to shut things off correctly, not run them for hours. The idea is that when the power goes out you want to save your work, tell your teammates goodbye, and properly shut your computer down this provides the power to do so. That's exactly what this does. It even alerts you if you are in another room and don't notice the lights going out. This model is a good compromise between cost and battery size. You should be able to get all your devices (it has plenty of plugs) powered down safely and it isn't loud, hot, or too bulky. This is the perfect model for home use. Don't use it for purposes for which it was not designed and it will serve you well. Seriously, it isn't a backup generator; I'm looking at you person who called me at midnight to tell me it only powered the computer for an hour.

Large battery and easy to manage
So, the larger your battery the more you can drain it before it "runs out of juice". The capacity on this UPS allows me to run my wireless access point and cable modem for at last half an hour in the event of a blackout, and also lets me shutdown my main computer cleanly after a few minutes to reduce corruption when actual blackouts occur. With brown outs, my computer and internet devices can all keep chugging away without interruption. The simple management software provided allowed me to choose how my computer would behave in the event of a power outage. I selected the ability to shut my computer down sooner rather than later, in order to preserver the battery for use by my cable modem and wireless access point. One unexpected benefit that I discovered about my power requirements is that my computer is no longer suffering from unexpected shutdowns. After I upgraded my machine to add a new blu-ray burner, my machine would, after a day or two, unexpectedly shutdown. I suspect, but can't prove, that this was due to an increased power requirement that meant that I was more susceptible to slight dips in the power distribution to my machine. Usually, this would occur overnight, after a seemingly random interval. With the insertion of this UPS, I have not had a single instance of unexpected shutdowns, and this is most likely due to either the more consistent wave pattern that this device generates compared with my normal house supply (w/ surge protector) or, more likely, slight dips in the amount of power given to my computer are no longer occurring due to the battery picking up the slack in the one-every-couple of days drop offs that happen in my house due to my heating or refrigeration kicking in. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and wish I had made it sooner to prevent my earlier issues with my computer shutting down randomly.

Must have for rural work from home situations
I've had this gem for a few months now and it's saved my bacon at least 4 times already, the box has counted 8 events. The power has flickered off for less than a second 3 times with me home and it was off for perhaps hours once. I came home in the middle of the lengthy outage, with the power out for a while and had 18 minutes of battery time remaining while it was powering a dual xeon, the wireless router, a cell spot, and 2 monitors (in standby). I'm currently pulling 189 watts out of this UPS and it says I have 36 minutes remaining. With the monitors off I'm pulling about 150 watts q/ 55 minutes remaining. Let me tell you something, I had no power, but could recharge my cell phone and the network wifi still worked and even my cellphone still worked. I live in the boonies, btw. That's plenty of time to shut down without losing work. It might even last through a webinar if I killed a monitor or two. Since the phone lines are underground, my DSL internet survives power blips, so I can continue to work and use my cell phone and that's incredible to me. Without the computer on, I could still charge my cellphone with the USB ports and the dsl router and cell spot and have communications and even internet access from my phone for many hours. This is my first UPS and for the price and the hours of work I could lose, it's very well worth the price.

Great Unit...
Great Item works as advertised. I've had it for a few months now and have had no problems. It has protected my home entertainment center many times over the past few months. I live in South FL. and had many short power outages and brown outs due to some work FPL was doing. This unit was powerful enough to protect a 50 inch plasma, PS4, Sony Home Theater Receiver, Xfinity Modem, Asus Router, and Xfinity Cable Box. It can power all these devices non-stop for 12 minutes. Pretty impressive. The outages I experienced only lasted a few seconds to 3 minutes. I would definitely recommend this UPS to anyone with similar short outages and power fluctuations.

Good product, excellent Tech Support
Using this battery backup to protect my computer from power outages and surges.. Power's gone out a few times, and this gives me time to save and shut down safely. I like that it stays cool -- doesn't waste much power while running in standby. Recently the front panel on/off button LED light went dark. Power protection still fine, but I called to ask. Tech Support answered right away, said they'd had a few LED failures. They sent me a new front panel, easy to install. There isn't an obvious self-test button, but self-test can be done from the front panel with a few button pushes. I've also tested by turning off the circuit breaker for the outlet where the UPS is plugged in. By the way, it's best not to test by unplugging the UPS from the wall outlet. That would also unplug the (round, slightly longer) safety ground pin of the plug, which can cause trouble if you have cables like USB, internet or video connecting other equipment which is still plugged in to a live outlet. Besides, it's easier than moving furniture to reach the plug.

I like the features of this product. The onscreen display is great for viewing the status of the battery and power conditions without having to connect it to a computer with USB. I like that it has more plugs on the back than the previous model it replaces, though I could do without the coax cable connectors on the back which get in the way of some power adapters depending on how you plug them in. I don't really need surge protection on the coax cable, but that is a trivial complaint. I haven't had this product long enough to experience a power outage, but where I live I get several long ones per year. I'm using this product as backup power for a cable modem, wifi router, voip adapter and cell phone signal booster. I like to keep those running during long power outages and this product should give me over 3 hours of runtime (it has two internal batteries.) I've used CyberPower UPS products for years and find them very reliable. The batteries usually last 5 years which is typical for sealed lead acid batteries.

I have bought 1 pure sine wave, 800 VA unit from CyberPower 3 years ago. That has been awesome and saved my computer from rebooting countless time over the years. Now that I have got a more serious workstation computer running 24/7, I was hoping to get another UPS with a bigger battery thus higher VA models are desired. The pure sine wave ones do have large battery option but that come with a relatively higher price. The new simulated sine wave UPS (BRG series) comes in handy. I was sceptical when seeing people saying it works for active PFC enabled power supply (which all modern day computer uses), but wanted to give it a try. It is now powering my server (~140W), a modem and a wireless router. I tested it 5-6 times by turning off the switch, and nothing was off and the computer runs like it didn't know the power was cut. Now I can have internet even my house is out of electricity, provided the cable still works. The great thing is the battery can provide, as it displayed on screen, 110 mins of battery time for my current set up, allowing my server to run for another 2 hours without worrying a blackout. I would definitely suggest this as a cheaper alternative to pure sine wave UPS, if that's not strictly needed.

Great project. Gives me more than 45min of power when I lose hydro. More than I was expecting. Was easily able to connect it to my Synolagy drive so it will stay alive until low battery and turn everything off properly before it's done.
