SteelSeries Ikari Laser Limited Edition (Sudden Attack)

I love this mouse. I bought the original in 2011 (without a special print of any kind) and it lasted until last year when the left button microswitch started to lose functionality and double clicking or not clicking. I attempted replacing with OMROM switches (specifically from Japan, not China), however, I'm not an expert solderer (and probably my cheap solder iron doesn't help either), so that only lasted a year. I started looking for a replacement, and unfortunately Steelseries discontinued this mouse. This is the only one available new, but it had the camouflage print on it so I wasn't that thrilled to get it as I like sleek and subtle in all of my components. I finally did, regardless of other reviewers mentioning that the coating on the mouse was rubbing off or tacky to touch. I agree, as it was somewhat tacky to touch at first, but that went away after a few hours of use. I have not had any problems with the print rubbing off at all as mentioned by others.This is still the best feeling, most responsive and accurate, and perfectly molded mouse I've ever used and I hope this one will last! (If not, I'll be resigned to get a better solder iron and up my game on soldering. :P)

The surface was sticky. It seemed like the rubber coating was breaking down. I love the design but the mouse had go to back!

I think the mouse rubber is tacky and in process of decay

I purchased my first Ikari Laser mouse in September 2008. It lasted until October 2012 when it started to act a bit funky, probably a laser problem. I loved this mouse so much that I bought two more, one for daily use and the other as a backup. The mouse (for righties only) fits my hand perfectly, like a glove. It is superb for gamers with precision tracking in every game that I've played. It does not use any drivers other than the Windows mouse driver. The mouse is programmed using SteelSeries supplied software that stores data in the mouse not requiring any feedback from a driver. I cannot praise this mouse too highly.
