Fascinating and motivating read- backed by research
This book is very readable and has inspired us to get on the 'nutritional ketosis' wagon. We bought it on the Kindle as we were on holiday. This meant we had to read it cover to cover and could not dip into the relevant sections when we were ready for them. We were ready for the plan several chapters before we actually got to it but given that his book is primarily around convincing us with research and anecdotes that ketones can be 'nutritional' then it certainly did its job. As someone who needs the research in order to be convinced, I would say if you are considering the LCHF way of life then read this. You will get a better understanding of why, for example, even too much protein can upset the balance required for this to have the health effects. I'm only 10 days into the plan and already have lost 8 lbs and blood pressure has dropped into the normal range from being 'high'. Husband's blood sugar has dropped already and we both have loads more energy. The book gives you tips on how to overcome the early days ketosis headache and how to manage every little detail you might need as you adjust to eating differently. We have been out for meals, traveled for work and had a large family barbecue yesterday and have found it very easy to manage. We just don't try to get into a debate about this so we have simply said we are giving up sugar and then we discretely don't eat the carbs at a meal and top up with fats. We feel great and and we are in the zone! Thank you so much

Excellent, thoroughly researched and increasingly relevant
Having researched this personally for nearly 3 years now, read every book on the subject that I was able to get hold of, and spent many gruelling hours looking at really boring academically published articles, particularly on nutritional ketosis and brain function; this book is definitely up there with the best available information. Where Jimmy's book excels, however, is in its ability to introduce the topic and educate readers with no prior knowledge, without getting overly technical or becoming laborious. This would be my go to book for reference, along with Phinney & Volek's 'The Art & Science of Low Carbohydrate Living'. For issues with Cancer, research Dominic D'Agostino and separately Thomas Seyfried for more focussed and in-depth material. Nevertheless, this book covers all bases and is a very good and up-to-date reference that covers the basics and points the reader in the right direction for further research and help. Well referenced and presented, would definitely recommend.

Don't be put off by the unfamiliar word in the title. All is revealed.
If you haven't heard Jimmy Moore's story, you will be pleased to find this book.Jimmy is an inspiration. Once a very big man, he found his own weight loss method and he is doing everything in his power to tell others about what he has discovered.'Keto' is a word many will not be familiar with but don't be put off. It is merely a short term for ketogenic . Jimmy describes to us a diet that changes us from being sugar/carbohydrate fuelled to being fat fuelled. He says 'you generate energy from both your body fat and dietary fat'. That is why you lose weight in a healthy way.His book explains it all and how people can benefit not only from significant weight loss but how all sorts of chronic health problems can be better managed using this diet.The co-author of the book, Dr Eric Westman is an expert in this area. In total, twenty two high profile and renowned experts add their knowledge and wisdom to back up what Jimmy is saying.Jimmy ends each chapter with a helpful list of bullet pointed 'key concepts' which summarises what has gone before as well as regular 'moments of clarity' .This helps to keep everything clear which is a strength of the book. Dr. Westman also adds explanations and extra information as the book progresses.Jimmy Moore has done a fantastic job with this book. I hope his excellent message reaches many because it certainly deserves to.

Very well written and high informative
Amazing book and highly recommended to anyone who wants to know more about keto from someone who has been through it all over the years and not someone who has jumped on the latest craze and decided to write a book to go along with his youtube videos after being on keto for a month.

Wake up and smell the coffee
Brilliant book. The amazing things that a ketogenic diet can do to combat the increased ailments in today's society. We have been brought up in a web of lies about what is good and what is bad for us in our diets, only to realise the complete opposite is true. The proof is ALL around us, from ADHD to obesity, a ketogenic diet can help all these issues. Ignore the non-believers, they still think the earth is flat.

Finding facts and knowledge is key to winning.
As a person whose has type 2 diabetes for a number of years books like this give you the knowledge that doctors don't tell you and help normalize your blood sugars and loose weight. Feel so much better for following the advice given in these type of books.
