Makes masking as easy as writing. Buy it already!
Very simple and straight forward to use. The experience was similar to using a correction fluid pen in some ways. Shake pen. Pump nib to start flow. Write/draw where you want the masking to be. Allow to dry (a minute or two, like correction fluid). Go over with other media (watercolours, markers, etc). Allow media to dry. Rub off mask with finger. I used an eraser to rub off the mask after using alcohol markers and it came off very easily with no paper damage (copier paper) at all, and left a sharp clean edged mask. (If I rush and don't let the media or masking fluid dry properly it could have very slight edge bleed) The pen is 2mm width, so like a correction pen in many ways, but with liquid masking fluid. The masking fluid 'ink' is light blue, so it is very easy to see where you have applied it on the paper, for later removal. Very versatile, and allows for easy rendering over highlighted areas, blocking out objects for background rendering, etc. Wish they had this years ago when I had to cut complex airbrush masks! Makes masking unbelievably easy!

What an eye opener.
An amazing little gadget. The bright blue fluid dries almost immediately and is very easy to remove. I have never had much luck with masking applicators. Usually, they get blocked and become unusable and more trouble than they are worth. Not this little treasure. Works a treat.

Convenient and accurate
Easier to use than a bottle of masking fluid, and more convenient to use too. I like that it’s blue so you can clearly see where you’ve masked. I guess for very delicate masking, a brush might be more accurate - it’s difficult to mask a very small area with this but it’s perfectly adequate for eye highlights. I think it’s quite expensive compared to bottles of fluid but you get what you pay for. I also like the fact that it was easy to remove with a Maskaway eraser/ rubber cement block, and didn’t damage the surface of my paper. Good stuff!

Fantastic but sometimes stubborn
The item is fantastic. It allows me to mask my stamps and I can see what is and isn't masked. The only thing I have found is sometimes it is hard to remove, in the sense the mask comes off in bits and stubbornly refuses to leave the paper. I don't leave it long either so be carefulwith it

Mixed Experience
The first few times I used it, it tore the paper when I tried to get it off (not too much of a problem, but not what I would expect). I researched for tips on how to use it properly, and ignoring all the tips I found, I had better success if I didn't let it dry, painted around it, and removed it as soon as possible then I wouldn't have the paper tearing experience. Also if I didn't shake but only pumped that would be far better too. Having to paint around it and avoid washing over it seemed a little pointless, but in fact, it was better than trying to go around a small area. I have got OK with it generally but I won't be buying it again and I am not recommending it for watercolour painting. The experience tends to greatly depend on the paper being used. Be sure to patch test it using the same paper and paint (and length of time before removal) before using it on your final artwork. I hadn't used it for a little while and found it had clogged up. I managed to get it going again but it's now leaving a faint blue pigment on the page (not great!) which again I can probably get around. But I never had these problems with the bottle of liquid latex which actually served us well for about 20 years.

handy to mask part of an image (cardmaking)
Although this can be used in many different art and craft projects, I use this liquid masking pen in cardmaking. This item is perfect for using to mask small images by painting over the item. The colour is blue so it is easy to see where you have masked after you have applied it. You can then continue and cover the rest of the page with paint or other mediums and then peel off the masking area that you covered using this pen. You will then be left with the item exactly as it was and the masking liquid peels off properly. This is particularly good if you have already coloured in your stamped image and then decide that you want to cover the entire page with a background colour after you have already coloured in your image but don't want your image covered. It is also handy if you only want a part of an image masked.

Not suitable for the intended purpose
The masking fluid from the pen is very difficult to get off the paper once dry. A great idea in principle, but totally useless in practice, it does not work.

Impressed
The pen allows you to mask preceise elements. I was impressed with the ease to drow even the smallest thing. It does not spill and dries quickly. I could not remove it without a masking fluid remover block ( a simple earser does not help) but I improvised and removed it with my household rubber gloves. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

These pens are excellent on Arches watercolour paper. Removal is easy and clean and damage free. I will continue to use them for fine detailing on my watercolour paintings. I only use 100% cotton papers of good quality.

The best part of this liquid frisket marker is the fine tip applicator, which is fairly hard to find in the marketplace. The marker ran out of masking fluid after three or four paintings, but I did use an awful lot of the product in each painting. Also I found it hard to remove with just my fingers, so I had to use one of those rubber cement pickups. All in all, I was happy enough with the product that I purchased another yesterday and am giving it five stars.

I love this masking pen . I don’t have ruined brushes as much and can mask writing and words much easier along with details in pictures . It goes on with a total different feel than other fluid and is harder to get of , but I find using an eraser works perfect and I also find it dose wreck your paper like bottled fluid dose . It stays thin and has more of a paper feel to it rather than the rubber feel of most . Would totally buy again. It arrived early and was in perfect condition and it’s small pen container is great to throw in a travel kit and can be refilled so never throw these pens out for they are sold empty aswell
