Feels Thought-Out
I started taking the Patrick Holford Age Antioxidant capsules after deciding my morning routine needed something a bit more intentional than just coffee and hope. The capsules are easy to swallow and don’t have any odd aftertaste, which is a big win for me. I like that it combines several well-known nutrients in one place, so I’m not juggling half a dozen bottles on the counter. The glass jar feels solid and looks far nicer than the usual plastic tubs. I’ve been keeping it on my kitchen shelf, and it actually makes me feel a bit more organised. The only slight thing I’d change is the label font size, as it’s tiny and not friendly before coffee. Overall, it feels like a thoughtful, tidy supplement that slots easily into a daily routine. Worth the money. I give this product my recommendation.

Not sure what the benefits are?
I’m not familiar with a lot of the ingredients, but thought I’d give these a try anyway. After a month of taking them, I honestly haven’t noticed any change, so I can’t really say what they’re doing or why. The capsules are fairly large, which might make them difficult to swallow for some people. I’m not sure why they need to be so big, especially when they include a bulking agent. There’s clearly something here I’m not quite understanding. They’re nicely presented and seem decent quality, but I can’t say I’ve felt any benefit from them.

PATRICK HOLFORD Age Antioxidant/Antioxidant Supplement/for Anti-Ageing Support : At the time of reviewing, this item is not available at Amazon. Patrick Holford is a premium brand, reflected in the price tag. This particular formula includes Vitamin E, Selenium, COQ10 and Vitamin E, boosting the immune system and protecting against oxidative stress. Also includes Resveratrol, Glutathione, Beta Carotene and Alpha Lipoic Acid. Hoping it will become available again soon.

expensive if one considers the context
These antioxidant capsules offer a well-balanced blend of seven nutrients including vitamin E, selenium, and CoQ10, and are advertised to support anti-ageing. The 60-capsule bottle provides a one-month supply at the recommended two capsules daily. These are moderate-dose supplements rather than high-potency formulations, which is intentional as they're designed to complement other supplements rather than serve as standalone solutions. The formulation is both vegan-friendly and naturally sourced. These capsules will work best as part of a broader supplement routine. While the quality and formulation are excellent, achieving optimal results means investing in additional products, which can represent a significant financial outlay. This is rather a reflection of its intended use within a more comprehensive approach to health supplementation. These capsules are suited for health-conscious individuals who are serious about investing in their wellbeing and have the budget to support a multi-supplement programme. If you're already committed to this approach, then consider this product. If you're looking for a single high-dose solution or working within a tighter budget, consider other options.

Best quality, trusted name.
Having recently made some important lifestyle changes with a view to ageing well - or, at least, better than I might have, I'm more than happy to try this antioxidant supplement from a very well-respected nutrition expert. I remember my mum, who'd been a healthcare professional all her working life, reading Patrick Holford's first book in the 1980s. If this had been available then, she would have been taking it, but she did take a daily vitamin supplement for the next almost 40 years (and lived to 97). Knowing this product is all naturally sourced, vegan friendly and made in the UK is reassuring. The dose is two capsules a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. There is a smell of vitamin E as you open the sealed bottle, but it's not overwhelming and I didn't find it a problem when taken with food, as you're advised to do. There was no aftertaste or "repeat", and I haven't had any digestive upsets from this. I'll continue to take this, and will probably order again.

Not for me
I ordered this supplement because I'd heard a little of Patrick Holford and his approach to preventative nutritional medicine. To me it makes sense that our bodies (and brains as part of that) can be viewed as very complex machines that need the right fuels for the different processes in order to function properly - 'fuels', in our case, being nutrients. It logically follows that inadequate levels of certain nutrients may cause impaired functioning; and from that, that if signs of impaired functioning are detected, a sensible first step is to ensure that there is adequate intake of the specific nutrients involved. So far so good, and it was from basic curiosity that I ordered this supplement. This British-made supplement is as described in the listing. It's a dark amber glass screw-top bottle containing average-sized capsules. The instructions say to take two capsules per day, one in the morning and one in the evening; and the bottle contains 60 capsules, so this is enough for a month. However, having received the capsules and done some research, I'm disappointed. For example, one of the ingredients is l-glutathione, a known antioxidant used widely in the body. Glutathione is an interesting nutrient, and I was delighted to discover that Sake (which I enjoy) contains it; and there have been some suggestions that it may be implicated in neurodegenerative diseases (eg, Iskusnykh et al, 2022; 'Glutathione in Brain Disorders and Aging'). But there's some research suggesting it's poorly absorbed when taken orally, and that the liposomal version is more readily absorbed and faster acting; and there's also research suggesting that an appropriate effective dose is >500mg per day. This supplement contains a fraction of that: only 50mg. Levels of other nutrients it contains are similarly out of step with the research, for example I'd be expecting a dose of resveratrol of at least 100mg per day, while the supplement offers only 20mg. My conclusion is that while this supplement might be ok for those who follow Patrick Holford and are willing to accept his word, it's not sufficiently evidence-based in its formulation to satisfy me. I'd recommend people do their due dilligence before splashing out on it.

Supplements from a top, trusted expert
When I saw this Age Antioxidant supplement from Patrick Holford I was excited to try it because he is well respected as an expert in the field of nutrition and supplements. I even have a book written by him, inherited from my mother-in-law! This supplement comes in the form of medium sized, easy to swallow capsules, recommended intake two per day, so this is a one month supply. They do contain a bulking agent, which seems disappointing, although it is only gluten-free rice flour. They come in a well-sealed brown glass bottle, best before date June 2028, almost 3 years from now. I’m not expecting to notice any obvious effects from these as I am taking them to maintain good health.

Seems like a good supplement
- No bad after tastes - Good amount in the bottle - plenty of info on ingredients - seals tight for freshness As with any supplement it is hard to tell any improvement on a month or two supply especially if you often forget to take them however I've had no negative side effects.
