HP CB316EE 364 Original Ink Cartridge - safe to use and does not clog printer
Although branded ink cartridges made by the manufacturer of the relevant printer are about double the price of non-branded, they are safer to use and I find that they do not clog up the printer unlike other makes. My printer is old and well past the Guarantee period but I would advise people to check the Guarantee of their Printer which might be invalidated in the case of using ink not made by the manufacturer. I have used this cartridge several times over the years and never had a problem. If rarely used, the ink will dry up in the machine unfortunately which means a waste of some money. Recommended. 4 stars.

Brilliant Print Quality, As Expected Given The Price.
As HP Cartridges have demonstrated , their print quality is of a faultless standard when installed correctly using the appropriate printing settings. However , HP ink cartridges are certainly not defying the trend of expensive printer inks , whilst these will print 200-250 pages each , that isn’t extraordinary if essays , letters , postage labels and articles are being printed frequently. Therefore , this product is ideal for those who print relatively frequently , perhaps 20 sides per week , as the purchase frequency will be reduced . However , those who print for business or commercial purposes should seek alternative , more efficient printers for future savings.

5 star for text, NOT PHOTO! Confused?
OK, it seems some are getting it right and wrong, but it's not your fault. There are reviews on this that state it's "PHOTO ONLY", but this is not, it is for text black, in the description "Get crisp black text every time".... I read many reviews that differ, then myself got caught out because some numnut said it was PHOT only - I was hung over and tired at the time and ordered x2 for photo. However, never mind, they get a 5* from me because they are great value for text, HP 309a printer (5 cartridge - CMYK and Photo) recognised no problem. For photo cartridge, it's the slimmer 10mm, and it will say "Photo Black" on the description, blenty on Amazon for less than the text black.

Ink worries
I've noticed that a lot of reviews on here are primarily complaining about how quickly their printer runs out of ink. I have not suffered that problem whatsoever - I've been using the tester cartridge that came with my HP Photosmart b110a since the start of this university semester (approximately 5 weeks) and it has only just started warning me to get a new cartridge. Bear in mind, I probably print (on average) about 5-10 pages of text a day, as I type my university notes and print them off accordingly. The trick is, go into your printer preferences on the Control Panel and set the print quality to "fast draft". If your primary use of your printer is for documents like essays or typed sheets, I would most definitely recommend doing this. I have probably printed over 100 pages using the tester ink that came with the printer originally. It will save you an absolute bomb in ink. Overall, my printer has been excellent, and considering I bought it from PC World over Christmas for £38, it's a bargain. The ink on here is fairly-priced (that's all thanks to Amazon though, not HP). The ink is of good quality, and I will continue to use the actual HP ink due to rumours that cheaper ink is bad for your printer in the long-term.
