True black colour
This dye is absolutely brilliant! I bought the 118ml bottle and it covered my bag 30cm x 21cm (2 coats) using only half the bottle. The bag looks like new. Excellent product!!!

Really good product
Been using this product for doing a few different leatherwork projects over the years, always with vegetable tanned leather. Never had any issues at all, and always rub my work down with some boot polish and beeswax once the dye has dried. Only issue I've got with the product is the listing says it comes with the wool dauber, yet I've never received one with any of my orders.

IT WORKS
Really easy to put on with the supplied applicator. Gives a good finish - but can't yet say how durable it will be.

Amazing Product!
Having recently used dylon leather dye, which did a very nice job of transforming a pair of taupe boots into jet black boots, I thought I would go for a product that came in a slightly larger amount.I prepped the chestnut boots ready for this product ... first with rubbing alcohol and then with acetone and let them dry. The trick is to make sure you have taken the protective layer off first, as unless you do, the colour is only going to sit on top, hence I expect the reason some buyers are saying the colour is coming off onto clothes etc. The liquid dye is incredibly thin, but amazingly concentrated colour... I overloaded my brush the first dunk, and managed to colour half the knee length boot with what was on the brush! Be careful if it touches anything it will stain... but then that's what I purchased it to do!I highly recommend this product and will definitely be using this product in the future. I don't really do feedback... but this product is so good, I felt I had to!

Brilliant product
I bought this item to dye patches that had worn and become light grey on a black saddle. It is alcohol based so soaked in and dried quickly. Only took one application to take leather from grey to black and blended perfectly with patches that were still original. Washed of any excess with sponge and water (this removed the small amount of metalic colour left on the surface). when dry applied a thin layer of wax to seal. It looks like new now and no stain transfer.... very happy customer 100% recommend

Leaves streaks and a copper finish
Bought this Fiebing’s black leather dye and as many other reviews mention, it leaves streaks and a metallic copper residue on the leather (even after wiping!). Luckily I did not do the whole boot, only the strap and I bought Kaps penetrating dye to do a comparison. The finish of the latter felt like a true black. I also wiped both straps with a damp cloth when dry and the Fiebings left a black residue on the cloth whereas the Kaps didn’t.And no I do not have shares in Kaps! - see photos.I prepared both straps with rubbing alcohol, and rubbed until the original colour coating stopped feeling smooth, and the leather felt a bit rough during rubbing.
