Gentle but effective
Protexin Pro-Fibre has made a noticeable difference to my dog's digestion and overall wellbeing. We were struggling with inconsistent stools and occasional constipation, especially as my dog got older. After trying a few different dietary tweaks without much success, our vet recommended this product. I'm genuinely impressed with the results. The powder is easy to use and comes with a handy scoop. I just sprinkle it over my dog’s food once a day and mix it in. It doesn’t have a strong smell, and my dog hasn’t batted an eyelid at the change in taste or texture, which is saying something as she can be quite picky.Within about a week of consistent use, we saw firmer, more regular bowel movements. There’s less straining and no more skipping days. It seems to support both ends of the digestive issue spectrum — helpful for firming up loose stools and also for preventing sluggishness. I also noticed that her tummy seems less bloated and she’s more comfortable after meals. What I really appreciate is that this supplement contains not just fibre but probiotics too. It feels like a more complete approach to gut health rather than just bulking up stool. The inclusion of probiotics like Enterococcus faecium makes a real difference in keeping the gut flora balanced, which is especially important after antibiotics or digestive upsets. The tub lasts a long time even with daily use, especially for smaller dogs. It’s good value considering how effective it is and how much of a difference it can make to your pet’s quality of life. It’s also reassuring to use something that’s recommended by vets and manufactured by a trusted brand. If your dog suffers from digestive issues, constipation, or loose stools, or you just want to support a healthy gut as they age, I would definitely recommend giving this a try. It’s gentle, well tolerated, and does exactly what it promises. A staple in our pet care routine now.

I'd definitely recommend especially if you have a dog with a sensitive stomach
Great product and a good sized tub of it.I'm used to using the Protexin paste when one of my dogs gets acute diarrhea (very expensive when it's needed often) but hopefully with this that'll not happen as often. So far so good... I've been using it with my chihuahua x's for just over a week and I noticed a positive difference after the first day of using it...firmer, bigger and more dense stools. One of my little dogs gets frequent bloody diarrhea and I've been looking for a good probiotic to go alongside the baked sweet potato (also a probiotic) with his evening meal. I've tried a few and been disappointed. The only downside to this pro-fibre is the size of the nuggets which could do with being half the size for small dogs like chihuahuas...but all 3 of them will eat it mixed in with their meat with no complaints (and chihuahuas are rather fussy).

It's not palatable, at least not for cats!
My cat does not think highly of this, hence the four stars. It is not palatable. But, sucks to be her, because she has to have a high fibre diet, and there's only three types of prescription foods for her. She hates one of them, and I can't feed her the other two nonstop, because she's the type to get bored and stop eating.Initially I found that soaking the dose of pellets in water overnight in the fridge, and then mashing it into other non-prescription foods kind of worked. But I hit a brain wave one day and blitzed them into dust in the coffee grinder. This has worked SO WELL. I can now add it to pretty much any type of wet cat food and she eats it, which stops her getting backed up! And she's put on weight, so I'm buying another tub!

Fast delivery. My dog has a digestive issue which he has had surgery for, this supplement keeps his bowls moving and is very effective without weight gain.

Try as an alternative for Glandex or anal gland products
Long used this for my older dog, and it keeps her bowels happy. My younger male dog used to refuse to eat it, and we ended up buying the very expensive glandex treats to help with his anal glands, but given the cost rising to £60 a month for those treats for his size, and it not being totally effective, we decided to stop. Changed to pure pumpkin powder for a month, and it didn’t really help. So I came back to this product and now mix 3/4 of the measure cup with a teaspoon of pumpkin power once a day to make it palatable for him. Since doing this he’s not had any anal gland issues.

Fussy dogs wouldn't eat them
I'm sure it's a great product if you have a dog who isn't a fussy eater. I really wish the pellets were smaller - its not a small pellet for xs dogs. Shame they don't sell smaller tubs so people could try it out.I tried blending it but blending makes it weird & very sticky - definitely don't recommend that.I bought it because others who said their dogs were fussy eaters ate it. But my fussy eater won't go near it. I tried it on 4 of his friends & the only one who ate any was a 10kg dog who inhales her food & even she avoided a few so unsure how to rate it. Id have given it a higher rating if any dog under 5kg had waten one.
