Jasmine Silk 100% Pure Silk Filled Eye Mask/Sleeping Mask Sleep Mask with Ajustable Comfortable Strap (Black)

I have been using an eye mask for about 8 years now and have tried many different types. Being female with not the largest of faces I found some masks literally are too big and also I'd started to notice that my eyes were getting very weepy and I think congested due to lack of air at night. I'd bought a jasmine silk mask previously but in pink and it was very pretty and soft but useless for keeping the light out, so I thought this would be the same, absolutely not, it is great, lightweight and feels comfortable to wear and does block most of the light out. I have one small niggle but I haven't dropped it any points for this, I find the nose flap a tad annoying but I've got used to it now, I personally don't think they are necessary but so many masks add them. Also another point is this mask DOESN'T bleed black dye onto your bed linen. Others I have tried have run onto my sheets and it doesn't always come out easily. I find I wake up with my eyes far more refreshed and no huge marks on my face, which is much better, I've just ordered another one to take on holiday. Oh and one last thing, it washes up fine, I hand wash mine in the bathroom basin with some hand wash being careful not to wring it too hard so the internal silk gets ruffled up and it washes fine. So a great mask.

BLOCKING LIGHT: Personally, I found the item to be excellent, it stopped all the light coming in. There is an extra piece of silk material (approximately 2cm) on the lower margin of the mask, forming a small rim around the area where the bridge of the nose would be, to provide extra security so the light does not enter. Incidentally, I found the mask stayed in place and did not move as I moved around while sleeping i.e. it was still in place when I woke up. COMFORT: Previously, I have only used a travel mask, which was not anywhere near as comfortable. This mask is made from a wonderfully soft silk containing a soft cushioned padding inside and is extremely comfortable to wear. Incidentally, the padding is only light so the mask is not too bulky. SIZING: The mask has an adjustable elastic strap with a lot of give. The ability to adjust the sizing was great as I only have a small head but found I could adjust it accordingly. QUALITY: The workmanship of the item is excellent. It looks well made, the stitching is very neat and there were no stray pieces of thread or the like. POUCH: The item comes in a little transparent pouch with a resealable zip. It is such a lovely item that I like the fact I can store it in this pouch when not in use. Also, this will come in handy when travelling. Incidentally, the pouch does have white writing on it e.g. details of the mask, care instructions etc. OVERALL: I am extremely happy with this reasonably priced eye mask, that is functionally fit for purpose. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to others.

My previous sleep mask was a freebie from a hotel in Lincoln, which has now fallen to pieces and I had gotten fed up with sewing the elastic back on. Thus I set out on my quest to find a new & better one. After looking on my favourite site(Amazon:D)I came across this one. It arrived the next day after placing my order which I was very surprised and impressed with. It comes in a case which reminds me of the pencil case I had at school and upon taking it out felt really cool and soft to the touch. I tried it on and adjusted the elastic band to fit my head. All I had to do now was wait for bed, which was a pain as it was only 11am :( So come bed time I was really looking forward to putting this on and blocking all light out. Did it? No, not completely there is a small amount of light that comes in around my nose but hey, we're all different(which makes us special...)so I didn't and don't expect it to fit perfectly. If I wanted that it would have to have lycra in it. Regardless it did the job and with my new earplugs I look great in bed lol!!! My only complaint is due to it being made of silk it does slip on my head and sometimes I wake up with it either half way up my forehead or not sitting centrally on my face. It may be due to the softness of my hair, I don't know but I have overcome this by tightneing the band which has helped somewhat. So don't let that put you off though, I'm impressed and a happy bunny..... :D

I wasn't sure if l should award this mask four or five stars. I would give it four and a half if possible. First it is a lovely soft mask. Lightly padded for comfort. It fits well over the eye area and feels comfortable. It measures approximately 21cm x 9cm at the lowest point below each eye. The elastic strap is 1.1/2 cm wide. It has a sort of 'bra strap' type of adjustment fitting. You can tighten it to the required fit. Not all masks have that type of adjustment. Underneath the mask there is a small type of flap that l assume fits over the nose blocking out any detectable light. The light blockage is only total around the bottom if the mask is quite snug. The blockage of light through the material is very good. I bought a black one. On the downside, it gets quite warm over the eye area and probarbly feels a little too warm. Almost to the point of feeling uncomfortable. I cannot fault it in any other way. Only one point that does let my mask, down is the fact that one side of the mask, bottom eye area, is not as well stitched or cut as the other side. The machinist has not taken care and that side is misshaped and badly stitched. This has caused the fabric that goes over the nose underneath to twist. Not a very neat job! . However, it wasn't bad enough to make it warrant returning it. It does the job that it is required to do. As far as the benefits of silk goes. Silk is very kind to the skin. It doesn't scratch or pull the delicate skin around the eye area. Apparently!?, silk prevents wrinkles from forming. Your eyes feel relaxed and refreshed after removing the mask. Probably because they get warm and cool down quickly after removing it. I do recommend this mask for the above reasons. It is value for money if you don't mind a bit of careless workmanship. It does the job that it was designed to do.

Like a previous reviewer, I am male and have a need for daytime sleeping, and frankly I wish I had found this sooner. It is extremely comfortableto wear, the elastic is gentle but strong enough to hold on despite my being pretty restless as a sleeper. I also have a large hat size and they cope perfectly with that too. There is no pinching feeling even after wearing them all through my sleep. I have a sleep disorder, and whilst these don't cure it they help me ENORMOUSLY to get sleep in the daylight hours which I need in order to cope with daily living. (I have Fibromyalgia and suffer non-restorative sleep and need to sleep through into the daytime every day, I also have light sensitive issues that causes pain without a mask.) My quality of life has improved quite noticably becuase of improved daylight sleeping using this mask. I realise it may not be such an 'epiphany' for many others, but even if I were not multi-disabled I would benefit from not having to face the bright sun in the mornings long before rising from bed. This is far cheaper than full blackout curtains and blinds, and portable too so you get the blackout in any room you choose. I disagree with the reviewer who says this does not block out all light, because it does for me. It is utterly black when wearing the mask, and the mask has my familys 'big 'KONK' to deal with. I can not fault this for comfort nor effectiveness in any way whatsoever. So much so that my 6yr old son now has become jealous and wants one as he now sees both Mum and Dad wearing this mask. Mum uses it to try and help relieve migraines, so as a result I just bought another one for her too. An absolute must for a few quid considering the improvemnt they make and how blisfully comfy they are. Go ahead fellas, don't be shy, get that extra sleep you always wanted. Fellow Fibromyalgia (FM) sufferers, you MUST buy this to aid your sleep, comforatbly and non-pharmacologically. Regards Baz

This silk is really beautiful, and soft, and the mask blocks the light very effectively. I'd definitely consider buying it again next time I need a new one. However, I do feel that it could be an awful lot better in terms of how well it's filled. The part that goes around the nose has no filling at all, which makes it a little uncomfortable, unfortunately. Just a little silk filling here would easily take this mask from a '3.5 star probably buy again' to a '5 star definitely buy again, and again, and again!!' The mask itself could do with just a bit more filling, too, to make it softer against your face. Actually, if they did change the design in this way, I'd probably buy several masks from them every year! (I'm sure for most people these masks would last a very long time, however I have to wash mine constantly because I have really bad night sweats, which definitely lowers their useable life, at no fault to the supplier.) I do love the new adjustable strap though! Definitely an improvement to the one on the mask I bought from Jasmine Silk a couple of years back! It's well designed and very comfortable. The little adjuster part is nice and slimline and doesn't dig into your head at all while you sleep. :) All in all, I'd recommend this mask to anyone, though if I found a supplier making a softer version, I'd quickly switch to them.

Both myself & many other people I know have been struggling to get a good nights' sleep this summer, as it seems to be particularly light this year. Yet this product solved that problem overnight - literally! I thought that sleeping with something on my face would take a lot of getting used to but being silk, it's surprisingly comfortable. The elastic is also serrated in such a way that it holds the mask securely without any slackness & is not too tight to be uncomfortable either. It's also very effective at cutting out light. While I thought that some would still be noticeable from the bottom of the mask around the nose, this has not been the case while using it at night. It's very well made, with good quality materials & excellent design - yet is still affordable! Being a man, my friends all think I'm mad but it really works, which at the end of the day is all that matters. UPDATE - MARCH 2014: Eventually the elastic strap stretched & became too loose over time, so I bought another one. This time, it came with an adjustable strap with a little buckle on it, so they've improved the design - for the better.

I am a night worker. I prefer to black out my bedroom for my sleep during the day, but I have just moved houses, and have not had a chance to install blinds or curtains. As a temporary alternative, I tried this sleep mask. The quality is great, and the material is really skin friendly and soft. It is also very comfy to wear, you can hardly tell it is on your face. It is important as pressure on your eyes will keep you awake. I am a stomach sleeper, which I understand is more of a challenge for a sleep mask, but in the short time I have used it, it never once fell off during my sleep. The reason I only give it a four-star rating is because when lying on my side, it tends to change shape a bit, and lets some light thru. But it may just be the shape of my face/nose.
