This buy was to replace an older one that stopped working because the batteries leaked. Had it a few years though. I wanted the exact same model as this really works! I suffer from dreadful reaction to mosquitoes and this clears them up a lot quicker and removes the itching. Highly recommend

I bought this after I returned from holiday last year following another miserable time with mosquito bites. I react horribly to them - with a huge area of red, hot swelling around them. They're painful and itchy. I was a touch dubious but brought it with me this year. Sure enough despite dousing myself in repellant I was bitten on the first night. I used the pen the next morning. It was painful when it started to burn (when it says it's hot - it's HOT!) but it's worth it as it brought almost instant relief. I normally have to spend hours lying with ice on my bites to bring any sort of comfort and any creams I've tried from the pharmacy give little if any relief from the horrific itch and burn. Antihistamines don't help either. The pen doesn't make the bites disappear overnight but it does definitely make the itching and discomfort far less than they would be normally. I only had to retreat the bites a few times each day and after a couple of days no discomfort from them at all. It's not a miracle cure hence the 4 stars - but it is by far the best cure I've found after years of searching 😂

I tried this for the first time in South Korea when it was lent to me by a German - but that’s how scouting works .I bought one as as soon as I got home, every person I have lent it to has looked sceptical, used it and bought one!Perfect for people who don’t like taking tablets or react badly to bites.

Got this mid morning today having ordered yesterday on my return from Portugal having been eaten alive by mosquitoes the prior day whilst playing golf. Bites that had irritated me last night immediately felt better after using this device and I have only had to use a follow up dose of heat on one of them so far today. You can have a 3s or 5s zap of 51 centigrade heat, I found 3 seconds tolerable and 5 seconds uncomfortable but worth it to take the itching away. Glad I trusted the reviews and gave it ago - recommended and better than using hydrocortisone or other nasty chemicals. Very easy to use and transport

I don't write many reviews but this product has been so good that I had to say something. I go to the south of Italy a lot and the mosquitoes really bother me. So much so that I will often tolerate very hot weather in jeans and a light sweatshirt rather than be exposed to possible bites - it just feels wrong covering myself in foul smelling DEET all the time. This has changed everything. This year was the first year I tried it and it really does work.As soon as possible after being bitten apply it to the area of the swelling and hit the button. I used the longer button almost all the time but there were parts of the body where I felt more comfortable with less time, applied twice instead. It does get quite hot but that's the point. It needs to reach 51C to neutralise the toxin causing the irritation, i.e. the anti-coagulant from a tiger mosquito. It is not hot enough to burn the skin or leave lasting damage but it does feel a little painful sometimes. I was bitten this year on the neck, feet, legs, fingers, arms and even my earlobe. I used this tool on every one of them. I found my feet were quite sensitive to the heat around the ankle, and my arms around the elbow.It's also important to note that this is really small, about the size of a thick marker. It fit easily into my trouser (and now shorts!) pocket and I carried it everywhere. I generally applied it within 5 minutes of a bite but even if bitten during the night it worked when I used it the next morning. And it really did go from very itchy to no itch at all within 10 minutes of use. It is worth noting that I also used an after-bite pen on the spot to ensure maximum relief. But they wear off really fast and the itchiness never came back.The only minor quibble I have is that in order to keep it thin, the ceramic heating area is pretty small. On some occasions I had to apply it twice because I had missed the location of the bite itself with the heating element even though I had heated the swollen area. But it is a small price to pay for having something that really works and which I can carry with me everywhere easily. I used it for 3 weeks and did not have to change the original batteries.After years of buying mosquito nets, mosquito repellent, after-bite pens, repellent bracelets, after-bite swabs, etc. - with very little relief from any of them - it's such a relief to not need them anymore. I expect I will save a lot of money. I will be getting some for friends and family as presents too.

Cannot recommend this device enough - I was sceptical but I'm so glad I gave it a go!I suffer from Skeeter syndrome and react horribly to mosquito bites on holiday. They become huge, hot and blistered, not to mention painful and itchy. I came back from my last holiday with legs covered in nasty bites, which my doc suspected was turning into cellulitis. I had to have a round of antibiotics and steroid cream. Nasty stuff.Well I just recently arrived back from a holiday in spain and despite precautions, got badly bitten again on the last night. By the time I got home, they were blistering red and hot again and really itchy.Keen to avoid antibiotics, I ordered this device hoping it might help. It was a little painful to administer, on some bites more than others - a bit like getting an injection - sharp and hot. But by morning the bites were no longer hot to the touch and the blisters and inflammation were greatly reduced!It's totally worth the money and momentary discomfort - in the future, I'll travel with this device to treat them sooner, but even two days after being bitten, the results were amazing. If you react badly to bites like me, definitely give this a go!
