This Functional Skills Maths Level 2 book covers all exam boards and topics, with clear explanations, examples, and practice questions to prepare students for the exam. Review: Generally a very good guide, clearly written - test tasks perhaps a little too easy but still five stars. - A very solid and well - written guide to gaining the skills needed to pass the Functional Skills Maths test at Level 2. There are good explanations right across the curriculum combined with worked examples and plenty of practice questions make this a very good choice for anyone wanting to improve their skills with the maths used in everyday life. At the end of the book are several tasks set out in the same format as the tasks in the tests organised by various examination boards. The tasks used by the boards in tests have increased in difficulty since this book was written and those taking the tests may find them more challenging than the examples given here. This isn't such an issue with the Entry 3 and Level 1 books in the series. However there are practice test papers online for anyone wishing to see more up to date examples and a Google search should quickly identify them. The English used in the book is clear and unambiguous, unlike some textbooks this book pays heed to the fact that the English used should be within the same level of understanding as the Maths. Graphics are simple, clear and well-labelled, the font used is Arial 14 which makes text very easy to read. It's a large format so not the most portable book but this leaves plenty of room for readers to make their own notes in the margins to aid understanding. A good index makes finding topics quick and easy. Answers to the test tasks and are given in the book with the crucial reminder for those taking tests that if they use an incorrect answer to work out the answer for a further question, they will gain marks as long as their working out is correct. There is a useful Glossary as well to act as a quick memory jogger. As a Functional Skills tutor I have no hesitation in recommending this book for home study and for tutors wanting a good basic textbook for classroom use. Review: Very helpful xx - Very good for home schooling
