Build quality cheap
Works ok but build quality is cheap, lots of plastic parts, the drillstop has broken after 2nd use and chuck has slight wobble.

Excellent
There are a lot of these about so it was quite difficult to choose,i required this as an additional piece of kit for my workshop however I chose this one as it looked good , and arrived on time This machine you have to put it together yourself which is very easy to do just follow the instructions if you are an enginee like my self it's easy and Straight forward I have used this machine to test it out and it seems ok dose the job I won't be using it for commercial use so I'm sure it will last for hobby work ,you can set the depth to drill so if you have several pieces of work the same depth just set the machine and away you go they will be all the same , to change the speed of the drill you just have to change the pulley ratio for a slower or faster speed which is straightforward a easy Would recommend this product

Chuck needs A LOT of pressure to fit on spindle
Easy to assemble but it took A LOT of pressure to press the chuck on (took 3 goes because when I thought it was ok it fell off again). Once assembled and squared up with my spirit level of worked perfectly. I use it for making wooden toys so it needs to drill accurately especially centre of the wheels, definitely worth the money but smaller in size than my old one

Quality not good.
Quality not good, depth gauge broke within 10 minutes of use, as soon as that happened I looked over the complete thing carefully. The electric motor only has a duty cycle of 30 minutes, therefore if you had a mornings drilling work to do (as I do from time to time) you are at risk of overheating the motor. Signs of rust on various parts of the machine. I suppose you get what you pay for £148-00 not much for a pillar drill. However I have returned it, as it would not last long in my home workshop.I will spend a little more and get a better quality drill.

Does the job
Does the job, wanted one for a while; not to big and perfect for small shed / garage, had some stainless steel bar to drill so was ideal time to buy one, this one looked very good for the price and am very pleased with it so far, had belt come of drive pulley once but that’s because Allen key grub screw was loose, so check all round before you use, I should have but was to eager to use it 🤔👍

Nice looking compact unit, but it stopped working after being switched on and off only two times.
Once I had assembled the Clarke CDP102B Bench Drill Press, I thought it looked okay: in fact, it is a nice looking unit. I did have to tweak it a little during the assembly to ensure everything was square and upright. A thin shim (0.07mm) was required under the front of the flange for the pillar to bring it upright. I then had to slightly adjust the mating faces on the mounting for the movable table to make it square to the pillar. (None of this was too difficult and took around half an hour.) Everything was then okay. I completed the assembly, then plugged the drill in and switched it on. I was pleased to hear the sound level was perfectly acceptable. Likewise I was pleased to see that the chuck ran true. At that moment I was well satisfied with my purchase. That was until I tried to turn it on again, at which point it failed to start. At that stage I had not opened the top cover, but I knew there was a safety micro-switch located inside. I thought that perhaps there was a problem with the actuator, but on inspection everything seemed okay. To be sure it was not the actuator, I tried holding down the micro-switch with the tip of a screwdriver and tried starting the drill again - STILL dead! I changed the fuse: STILL dead! The only thing I can put it down to was the ON/OFF switch failing. As I had only turned the drill on and off two times before it failed, I was not happy. I have given 3 stars because the unit is pleasing to the eye. It's (ONLY) fault was that it stopped working within 5 minutes. Were it not for that, I would probably have been well satisfied as it had all the features I required, and at a reasonable price. (Such a shame) Item returned for refund.
