Ideal for intended use, yes it appears 'thin' but that is fine as it is stainless steel and any thicker would be too heavy to fasten to the wall with glue. And very slight flexibility is useful on uneven walls, use silicon seal around the edges to get a good finish, or decorators caulk which is paintable. Careful of fingers as the edges are sharp to handle. Check the size you need as this is the 'lower' splashback that will come up behind your cooker to about the height of neighbouring cupboards. A taller one is available. Mine looks brilliant next to white units with soft grey doors and stainless steel handles, anthracite cooker. Very pleased with the splashback and excellent price too. Next best price up is via Currys for glass and next price down again for glass is Argos.

Arrived really fast. Well packaged, easy to put up with glue. Looks great.
