Excellent! It has helped me locate the drafts in my home and insulate them from the cold! Very useful tool!

Works great, hood quality and accurate. Its easy to use, put the battery in and go. The littlies and hubby had lots of fun taking the temperature of everything, cats, dogs, radiators you name it.

The device is easy to use: simply hold trigger to get continuous readings (scan) with 1/2second lag - so scan slowly. Release the button and it will hold the last reading - useful when taking a reading and are unable to see the display. The display has a on/off backlight to assist if needed. I have tested this on various known temperatures (fridge, freezer, icy water, boiling water) and readings are reasonably accurate. Beware: on my device the laser-spot is way off the alignment of the gun (a good 12cm out at 3meter distance), so be cautious if taking measurements at a distance. Also be aware that the 'cone' of the IR detector has field of view of 12:1, so at 3 meters distance it will show the temperature for a 250cm diameter area. So to get an accurate reading for a small area you need to be close to it. Finally:, different materials/surfaces have different IR Emissivity Values in that a matt-black surface will display a higher IR reading than a white or reflective one. The instruction leaflet provides an Emissivity Value table for various materials, but it fails to explain how to use them. I am of the understanding that you DIVIDE the displayed reading by the Emissivity value (always less than 1), so that the actual/calculated temperature will be higher than that displayed. I'd happy give 5 stars if the guidance laser was more accurately aligned to the physical hand-gun, although the separate IR detector could also be misaligned. And slightly better instructions.

Seriously, this is the best gadget I have ever bought. I used it to create a heat map of my house, locating all the cold spots so that they could be draught-proofed, resulting in a significantly warmer home. To ensure accuracy, try to hold it close to the surface whose temperature you are measuring. You can measure at a distance of several metres, but if you do that you are getting more of an area average. Also, don't just squeeze the trigger and take the first reading - hold it down until the temperature reaches a constant value. Use it this way and you'll find it to be reliable and accurate. Very easy to use and very good value.

Not sure if it reads completely accurate but for the price it seems to do the job, I use it for curing screen printing ink, pretty good overall!

Fairly accurate temp readings very good for price.I work in asphalt industry and have misplaced my works temp gun which was expensive this seems to be on par and a good price.

I was having an issue with our radiators feeling cold at the bottom. We rent, so I needed to prove to our landlord that the radiators weren't heating up properly. This laser thermometer worked a treat to measure the temperatures in different parts of the radiator to map the cold spots. The only problem was that every time you release the trigger to take the reading, it bleeps very loudly. So if you are taking loads of readings, it gets very irritating after a while. But overall a fantastic product.

device reads about 1.5 degrees cooler than heat source so not very accurate

Since we are in a heat spell I thought I check on how our air conditioning is doing. Since my intake is so high we decided for the convenience we would purchase the Helect Non-Contact Digital Laser Infrared Thermometer. And boy are we pleased. Read on for our observations when using the Helect Thermometer. -- ACCURATE: I read the difference between the AC intake and output should be a minimum of 14 deg F. At first I drug the ladder in the house, reached as high as I could to tape a analog thermometer on the intake and then the same thing on the output vent. We later compared those readings to the Helect Thermometer and saw the same temperature readings. We measured at other locations where a thermoter was already present such as the house thermostat, outside thermometer and great, we got the same readings everywhere! -- LONG REACH: What a convenience to stand on the floor, point the thermoter whereever you need and get an accurate reading. In our case we made measurements up to 25ft away and found them to be accurate. -- LOVE THE LASER: The laser is bright and easy to find, especially inside and really essential to be able to pinpoint the spot on which you need to measure. -- COULDN'T BE EASIER TO USE: Just point, pull the trigger, position the laser dot on the area to measure and within 1 second you have a reading. When the trigger is held down the reading will continue to reflect the spot where the laser is, even when moving it side to side to make comparisons. CONCLUSION: Could be simpler to use and amazingly accurate. What a great value for such an incredible convenience!
