Silk wedding dress, nice and white, but some small stains on the train of the dress - don't ask how they got there!I ordered Silk & Clean - Stain remover wipes for silk, which were delivered promptly.My wife tested one in an inconspicuous area on the back of the dress, and it dried out without a trace.So she then removed all the stains and they've gone.We're ready for a stainless wedding!

I must admit when I got this I was shocked to discover that the pack only contained 5 small wipes. At nearly a pound a wipe, that is not cheap. I love silk but it is not a very practical fabric and it really is spoilt when you you get grease on it. I had a silk cushion which had a minor grease stain on and decided to try it out. My first wipe removed the stain but left a ring ewhich water doesnt remove.The instructions do tell you to keep rubbing for three minues to avoid a ring, but it took two more wipes and considerable rubbing to remove it. Fortunately it was a patchwork cushion so I could concetrate on that one area but it would have been really hard, and very expensive if a large area needs treating. Better than throwing away a treasured item but an expensive option.

Invest a fiver in this - if it saves you one silk tie it's money well spent right? Sometimes you need 2 wipes but i have successfully cleaned several ties from drippage related accidents.Do it and thank me later. If M&S stock them (occasionally) they can't be far wrong.

Worked well on a stain on silk chair

Waste of money. I have come to the conclusion that if you drop something nasty down your lovely silk tie then you may as well bin it. This product shifted the custard stain but left behind a watermark once dried. It actually looked worse than when I started. Best put your money towards a new (washable) tie.

One of my staff bought me a rather nice silk tie as a leaving present from my last job. Of course, the first time I wore it, I spilled mayo on it! These little wipes got the stain out first try. Very pleased as the tie is pale blue and the stain was very obvious.

Used the item as soon as received and followed the instructions and in no time at all the stain was removed. Excellent product that does what is says. Would recommend it for small stains on silk items.

If I had known how tiny this packet is I would not have bought it for £5. (£2.50 may be) the packet looks a lot bigger than what it is,, very small packet with a wipe in it. It did not remove a stain from a silk wedding dress.
