Dear customer,thank you for your attention to Glocusent(The Book Light,The Glocusent). Yes, you can use it while it is charging. While we do not recommend such kind of operation in the long term, which might shorten the lifespan of the battery.

Can i use this with a standard usb c female to usb a male connector?

Yes, Aran, like charging a mobile phone [not iPhone]. Note the USB C connector is the newer type with rounded ends. You're supplied with a charging cable so may not have to think about connectivity.

What is the CRI of this light?

I don’t know about the CRI but the blurb says: “3 Colors & 5 Brightness Stepless Adjustable. Unlike other piano lights, our music stand light has a unique eye-caring amber mode (1800k) to prevent eye strains. The color temperature ranges from 1800K to 6000K with 20 lumens to 200 lumens brightness levels for any occasion.” The brightness and colour can be adjusted steplessly, with the chosen setting remembered when next switched on.
