Great little clock
Have had this for 9 months now and it still works a treat. Nice size and looks like wood even though it isn't. The cuckoo sound is quite realistic and volume can be adjusted. The little bird is cute, we call him Karl! Wouldn't be without it now.An update, after having the clock 16 months it stopped working. Changed the batteries but no joy, the doors remained firmly shut with no cuckoo...disappointing as would have hoped it to last longer than that. The guarantee was only for 12 months, but will contact Acctim about it I think.

Great fun!
Absolutely great little product. My grandfather had a real one, however as I am short the extra £500 required for such an item, I thought this would be a bit of fun. Yes it’s plastic, yes it runs on batteries, but it’s really sweet, shows a lovely little clock in the middle, makes the right sounds and has the movements. It’s a novelty and I probably wouldn’t hang it in the drawing room, but for something fun and authentic looking I honestly can’t fault it for the price. I’d also like to add that the company sent it the afternoon before and it arrived the next morning! Either spend £500+ and get a real one, or have some fun with this!

Pretty cuckoo clock, a bit plasticy
Nice design.Had one years ago, and it's a very similar design. Just now everything is plastic whereas with the old one it was just the cuckoo (the box and carving on the old one were wood). The other negatives versus the older one is the speed of the pendulum as it is far too fast.Battery life is a bit so so although I am using AA rechargeables (so only 1.3V vs 1.5V) with a C adaptor. A pity it the whole thing is 1xC for the clock and 2xC for the mechanism as otherwise if it was 3 x C (4.5V) then powering it via USB might be viable too.

Good Value
Works a treat, obviously it looks a bit plastic and cheapish, but cant afford a real one. Found putting AA batteries in works fine, a lot cheaper than the recommended C batteroies. Yep, all in all pretty good value.

Very nice little item!
I’d decided I’d like a wall clock for my cottage’s living room, and looked to see what was available. Spotted this and thought that my 3 year old grandson was due to visit, I’d give it a whirl. To be honest, wasn’t expecting much at this price, but I’m very pleasantly surprised. Although the casing is all plastic, it actually looks very good. The rocking pendulum creates a nice, homely sort of tick tick noise, and the hourly cuckoo chimes are still making me smile, tho now the visit is over, I might turn down the volume a tad til next time. My grandson loved it, and stood enrapt counting the cuckoos! Keeps good time, and easy to set up, once you suss that the initial setting will be 17.30, and you then wind it on from that point.

Only lasts till clocks go back or forward
I have bought TWO of these clocks, Actim is a name I know, I therefore felt safe to buy. It was fine until the clocks went back an hour, I put the clock back an hour during the QUIET hours, six am came and no more cuckoo! I tried the reset (with fresh batteries) and still no cuckoo! It still kept time. Over a year later I had another one, worked fine until the clocks went forward, I now have another clock that doesn’t cuckoo! Very frustrating, very disappointing.
