I shouldn’t have needed to buy this battery
The reason I bought this battery was because the one supplied with the hedge trimmer I bought two and a half years ago packed up. I wasn’t too worried as Einhell, in huge lettering, proclaimed its three year guarantee on both hedge trimmer and battery. I contacted Einhell, telling them when I bought it and that it was via Amazon. They then led me a merry dance asking first for more details, the demanding a copy of the purchase invoice (which you don’t get with Amazon purchases). Amazon said they would contact the supplying company about getting an invoice. However, after 10 days waiting - to no avail - I managed to get a screen shot of the original order and delivery confirmation, which I forwarded to Einhell. They replied that, although my battery was still under their guarantee period, I had not registered my purchase with them. Therefore they would not honour their guarantee. Nowhere in the delivery packaging was there any indication that I had to register the purchase with them to be covered. If there was anything within the sales blurb, it was printed minutely small compared to the “3 YEAR GUARANTEE” text. There was nothing in the delivery packaging for the new battery that informed me I had to register it for a guarantee either. That is my review. It is up to you whether or not you deal with such a company.
