As part of a recent kitchen refurb we had an Abode Aquifier filtered water selector installed (you use your normal kitchen tap, but when you want filtered drinking water you twist a knob alongside your tap to route the water flow via a filter). We were disappointed from day one, the filtered water was never as good as we used to get from our old Brita water filter jug. We tried severely restricting the flow through the filter, so that just a dribble of filtered water came out (slower flow/better filtration was suggested by the Abode instructions). We tried flushing for 20-30 seconds each time before actually taking water to make drinks. All to no avail. We wondered whether we might need Abode's high-resin for the hardest water areas filter (£50 each!). Bought one of these, instantly fixed! Great tasting tea again :) No need to rinse/flush first. No need to restrict the flow. AND half the price of the original filter! Happy with that - it now performs as we had hoped.

no issues whatsoever with this filter, despite not being Bosch product it fits and works perfectly at a good price.

Bought this to replace the filter on Abode tap as the Abode ones are quite expensive. This one is half the price, smaller and has lasted twice as long. In fact, I see now that I ordered it in July 2014 and it is now Februrary 2016 so it's been in use now for 18 months and the water still tastes fine, is clear and the tap has not slowed to a trickle. Not sure you're supposed to run them this long but I've just ordered my second.

As this was my first replacement of the internal filter, I actually called a plumber as on the instructions it very clearly said unplug from the mains and disconnect the water supply. As this would have entailed quite a kerfuffle, I decided this was not accurate and would do it without pulling a very large American-style fridge/freezer out from the wall to get at various pipes and plugs at the back, in order to change a filter that was on the inside of the cool area! But to be on the safe side, would call a plumber on stand-by for the first execution of a filter replacement. In all fairness to me, the plumber wasn't sure whether everything had to be disconnected either. In the event, all went without a hitch and getting the cover off the filter assembly is the most difficult part of the operation. Therefore I feel, in the instructions it should say it is possible to fit without disconnecting everything, but you do so at your own risk.....or words to that effect!!

Much cheaper than Bosch's own brand. Takes a minute to swap over. Give the fridge dispenser a good flush out after swapping. I flushed around 5 litres through before drinking.
