Does it need power?I think I need this converter for my ipad.

In my experience with iOS 16 this adapter requires power to be recognized. Once recognized you can disconnect power and use until you unplug from iPhone/iPad. If you disconnect from your device, you’ll need to plug into power again to get it recognized. This is a huge disappointment in my book given the reviews to the contrary.
