Thule PACK N PEDAL TOUR RACK On- Bike, Black, One Size

I purchased the rack and Panniers for my main commute bike. Picture taken after 500 miles of hard off-road use Overall very high quality ( i would normally go Ortlieb as they are the market leaders for this type of bike kit but thought id give Thule a try ) Installation took about 25mins, very simple and a very unique and effective way of attaching to bike . I did have an issue with the racks. After 2 days usage i noticed a missing bolt. I would guess that it was missing when new but i didn't want to return via amazon because the bike is used daily as my main commuter so off i went to 'Thule Support' to log a ticket thinking the worst.... Kudos to the Thule team. After i explained why i didn't want to do an amazon return the Thule customer support team sent me out the missing part to my home address and now all is well. A definite 5 star product and the after sale support to match.

This is beautifully designed and extremely well made. Every detail has been thought of and is in such contrast to the usual cr*p coming from China. I've installed it on an electric mountain bike with 3" tyres ...... about the least suitable bike for a pannier but it still works exactly as it should . Hats off to the design team. The only negative is that it's not something you ideally want to remove after every ride. But it's an acceptable compromise in return for being rock solid fully loaded. Given the quality of materials and construction I think it is very good value. Highly recommend.

I bought this product for a rear rack for a new FSB 29er MTB. It is a well-engineered rack and is nicely designed but it is slightly too small for a 29er with 2.5" tyres. There is a plastic moulding located to the underside and rear of the rack and, even with adjustment, this contacts the tyre. I had to take a hacksaw to it and removed 1cm before I had enough clearance. Even so, I am worried about the build-up of mud. Assembly was generally OK and it comes with the hex keys that are required. The ratched arrangement for the four compression mountings work really well. However, the assembly instructions are a bit spartan and there is no guidance on how to adjust the lateral position of the rack. This is much more difficult than it sounds. Overall, a nice rack but could be better.

Goes well with Tulle panniers and keeps them away from my large disc rotor. The best rack I've tried for my XS MTB. Strong and stable.

Ok…. this is hideously expensive. My mountain bike had full suspension & my previous option was using a seat post fitted rack which was a cheap option; however I can’t have the seat very high ( short legs!😁) & often the suspension when it moved cause the seat post rack to make contact with rear wheel & make a duck like fart noise & I worried about wear or damage on the tyre. I baulked at the cost for quite a while before I finally bit the bullet & decided to buy this. Rear suspension MB life has been transformed! Because the rack moves with the suspension forks I can now have my seat post at my ideal height with no contact ever happening with the wheel. It is a bit fiddly to fit but worth it

Came a few days earlier than told so pleased . Instructions as usual these days hard to follow so did the usual went onto a Youtube page made life easier , a bit fiddly but once done HAPPY , couldn't use a rack that fastened onto the saddle post as made seat too high , this worked a treat .

Very clever design, slightly technical to fix, better with a helping hand but made me appreciate how well It's made. I fitted it with the Thule pack n pedal basket too, the school run now is much simpler, amazed at how much I can fit on the front of my bike.

good quality, functional, but fitting is an issue

I was a bit apprehensive about buying this product because it was more expensive than other racks and there was a lot of plastic. My old rack was all metal and had lasted about a decade although the welds had broken several times and had to be repaired. Looking at replacement racks it appeared they all had the same support welds. After reading about this rack and looking at the reviews I decided to try it. It took a bit to understand the mounting setup but it did not take long to mount it, select the right supports and level it. The rack is very light, appears to be very well built and feels very sturdy with a full pack mounted on top. The lock for the ratchet and strap mounting system is simple and works well. It will be easy and quick to take the rack off and then put it back on. The tire and frame clearance is great and I was able to easily modify my rear fender to fit securely under the rack without having to modify the rack. My only complaint is that I had to purchase the side frames (for the large panniers) separately which made this rack a comparatively expensive item.

Si no has visto el vídeo que acompaña a este comentario, deberías verlo, y después, volver aquí para leer, ya que el vídeo es de cuando lo puse en la bici, y este comentario, es después de 2 semanas de uso que detalla la experiencia. Primero, decir porqué lo compré. Yo no hago cicloturismo ni similares, pero necesitaba un soporte para la bici. Una Scott eBike de doble suspensión, y eso ya de por sí, es un problema para montar un soporte trasero, ya que para las dobles, o montas un soporte a la tija (que ciertamente son inútiles por la poca capacidad de peso que aguantan y porque en cuanto te metes al cerro con la bici, se mueve para todos lados), además de que al llevar tija telescópica, tampoco podía. Así que probé con un soporte de estos que van a las vainas, de esos que hay miles aquí en Amazon, pero no resultó. 30E a la basura. La última opción que me quedaba, era el soporte de El Burro, pero claro, son casi 250E, y como que no. Yo solo lo necesito, porque la bici, además de usarla en el cerro, también la uso como movilidad urbana, y necesitaba algo para poder llevar ciertos objetos, alguna bolsa si de camino tengo que hacer la compra, etc. Para esto va fenómeno. Pero además, cuando salgo al campo, no siempre hago rutas de enduro, sino que me gusta ir de tranqui algunas veces con mi cámara y algún equipo para fotografiar paisajes. Vamos, salir una mañana ha hacer una ruta de 60-80km y volver a la hora de comer, con una buena experiencia y recuerdos del paisaje. Y para eso, además de venir bien para colocar el casco y cualquier otra cosa que se te ocurra, necesitaba un soporte. Elegí el Thule a pesar de que se supone que el modelo anterior, soportaba más peso. A mí, este me vale, y después de este tiempo de uso, he de decir que en las condiciones más extremas, practicando enduro con descensos impoprtantes y terreno muy abrupto con rocas, saltos y cambios bruscos de dirección, ha resultado ser perfecto. No se ha movido ni un milímetro de su sitio con un peso de unos 6kg en algunas ocasiones aún en las condiciones más severas. Puntualizar, que no soy un experto en descenso ni nada por el estilo, pero que llego a casa con las gomas de los amortiguadores en los topes. Es decir, que se mantiene en su sitio, y sí, no tiene mucho sentido hacer enduro con un soporte puesto, pero vamos, cada uno tiene sus necesidades por aquello de usarla también a diario, y no voy a estar montando y desmontando a cada cambio de terreno, así que considero que si pasa esa prueba, es que es bueno. Por otro lado, decir que como veis en el video, yo lo llevo con 29x2.6” y queda espacio sobrado para la rueda. Casi 1cm a cada lado. Decir también, que he leído en un comentario que dan los talones al pedalear. Desconozco la bici de este usuario, pero a mi no me dan en absoluto, y eso que calzo un 48, lo que hace que mi pie, sea mucho más largo que la media, y al menos en mi doble, no da. La configuración que yo llevo en el montaje, es para que vaya ciertamente pegado a la rueda, y al mismo tiempo me sirva de guardabarros trasero y evite pequeñas piedras que antes me golpeaban, así como el paso por zonas húmedas. Pero se puede regular y poner más alto o más bajo, según necesidades. Supongo que en otoño-invierno, lo despegaré de la rueda un par de centímetros más para el tema barro. Viene con 3 juegos de “brazos” en distintos largos, por lo que la adaptabilidad es total, tanto en ruedas más grandes, como la mía, o en ruedas más pequeñas. Además, ya juegas con la posición arriba o abajo del soporte, ángulo de inclinación, etc. Lo único a tener en cuenta, es que no es nada fácil dejarlo perfecto en su posición para que quede totalmente centrado con la rueda por el sistema flexible de correas (que dicho sea de paso, no daña el cuadro, las gomas de protección son de muy buena calidad, pero si es de carbono, lo desaconsejo totalmente). Con esto quiero decir, que si va a ser de quita y pon, cada vez que lo sueltes, tendrás que pasar por todo el proceso de centrado y alineado con la rueda. Creo que sale más a cuenta dejar la parte que va a la vaina puesta, y quitar los dos tornillos de cada lado para retirar el soporte, dejando la base en la vaina y subiendo el soporte a casa. Esto ya es a valorar por cada usuario. Para terminar, el peso que soporta. Supongo que las personas que hacen cicloturismo, no andan por caminos tipo enduro a lo bestia, así que sería el equivalente a cuando yo hago rutas por caminos sin asfaltar. Decirles, que en una ocasión, encartó comprar unas cosas mientras salía con la bici, así que las puse en el soporte para la vuelta a casa. Calculo que unos 14-16kg, y aguantó perfectamente los 35km de vuelta. No se movió un milímetro. Su peso máximo, es de 10-11kg según sea alante o atrás, pero a mi no me ha dado problemas con más peso, si bien es cierto que no recomiendo abusar. Ah, se me olvidaba. La parte de la base de carga, se puede poner en dos posiciones, más adelantada y atrasada y lleva sitio para colocar un reflector, luz, etc. No sé si es compatible con alforjas y similares, porque yo de eso no entiendo, pero los que entendáis, podréis apreciar en el vídeo si esto es así. En definitiva, a mí, me ha resultado la mejor opción para mis necesidades de uso de día a día en ciudad, rutas por el campo tranquilo, o para practicar enduro con algunos saltos y terreno abrupto, incluso descenso nivel moderado sin que se mueva del sitio. Entre el precio que tiene este, y la otra opción para doble suspensión de 250 pavos, pues me quedo con esta porque mis necesidades de peso, van sobradas con este Thule, al tiempo que no interfiere para nada por su bajo peso en el comportamiento de la bici. No es que sea lo más estético del mundo, pero la necesidad manda en mi caso, así que he querido compartir esta opinión y vídeo por si te es de útil a la hora de decidir si se adapta a tus necesidades, u optas por otro sistema. Holds our trunks securely. Easy to install. I used the long supports for 29" Cannondale moterra 3 full mountain bike. It comes with 3 different lengths of support and slides to level. When I bought it 2+ years ago. I installed one 4 mm screw and a 5mm nut as a washer on the lower arm which had preinstalled holes which prevents any movement. The strap just rests against the screw. The strap tightens with a ratchet and a key to release preventing theft of the rack. Just bought another for my wife's new Cannondale neo 2 carbon which set up the same. Well built but expensive, luckily I noticed they had a used one which saved me $80 and was complete.

L'adaptation sur un VTC électrique KTM n'a posé aucun souci et s'est très bien adapté. Construction robuste comme d'habitude chez THULE. Livré avec les accessoires de fixation, visserie et clés Allen. Très bon produit.
