Product works great but there has been a huge price increase from last year. This year it costs $65 a gallon; last year it was $50 a gallon. That's a 30% increase.

I ordered this before the current snow/ice storm that came 1/25/2026. I ordered 2 bottles since I didn't know how well this would work. Turns out it's expensive but works pretty well. I went back today (1/29) and they raised the price by $15 per gallon. I understand supply and demand by this seems like price hiking gone wild. I can understand a modest price increase but 30% seems like a lot. Not sure if this is from the manufacturer or Amazon. Just seems wrong.

I used this last winter for my wooden porch, the brick approach to my driveway, and around and on my septic gray water sprinklers. Worked a treat through freezing rain and on the remnants of shoveled snow. We got 6 inches (which I know isn't much for a lot of y'all up north, but was awful down here in my part of Texas!) and I didn't slip or slide down my steps to my car one time! I'm coming back to order more for this season :)

I was impressed with how fast this arrived — just in time for the snowstorm we had coming. I sprayed the Petra Pet Safe Ice Melt on my surfaces before the snow hit, and it worked really well. The treated areas stayed clear, and the liquid lasted a few days, which really helped prevent ice buildup. Overall, it’s effective, easy to use, and safe for pets. I highly recommend it!

The only thing this melted was my patients! Does not work. Temp 32F and ice sprayed heavily over a 15’x 25’ area. Nothing happened! My temperature went up but ice stayed!

It was real cold and a lot of ice had accumulated on the stairs of my residence. I bought this so it wouldn’t hurt the dogs that use the stairs like salt can. I guess it was too thick of ice because I ran out and there was still much ice on the stairs. This might be better for small patches. It does seem better for pets, as it won’t get caught in their paws. It’s not a bad product but I must be honest in that it didn’t work as well as I hoped after reading the description, and for the price- I will look for other options, personally.

Are you tired of slipping on icy walkways in front of your home? I know I was, this deicer is perfect for the job and is also pet friendly and you need not worry about those pesky granules from other deicers getting caught in your dogs paw pads. It also allows you to retreat walkways before a heavy snows; it also works fantastically after nights of freezing rain. I would highly recommend this ice melt the next time you slide dien your walkway in the winter time
