Little Britain - Live [DVD]

Being to young to have seen this when it was shown in 2007, I was horrified to learn that I may have missed seeing the Live Show of Little Britain. But then I found that it was on DVD and breathed a sigh of relief!I've watched this over ten times in the three months I have owned it, and absolutely love it. The speedy costume changes were so clever and the moving set was the same. This was definitely ruder than the TV show, but that doesn't make it less funny - if anything, it was even better. The behind the scenes videos allow you to see the rehearsals and what happens between sketches of the showThe best bits:David snogging Matt's face off in the Judy and Maggie sketchDaffyd's songLou and Andy interrupting the show before it's evens startedAnne venturing off of the stage and causing havoc in the auditorium.If you don't like that sort of humour, this may not be for you. But if you love Little Britain like me, you'll love it.

If you're already a fan of Little Britain, this will be a wonderful addition to your collection. It's not perfect, obviously, as some elements of the comedy as shown on the screen won't work as perfectly as on stage. Still, David Walliams and Matt Lucas are a wonderful pair working together on stage and their chemistry is perfect.Furthermore, there are really interesting extras, including David's swim across the channel!! I didn't know that it was going to be on the dvd and it was a pleasant surprise.

The show is pretty enjoyable and allows the audience to appreciate very talented actors (so rare in these last years). It must have been very difficult getting the same pace as TV with the sketches fading one into another with no pause and with very few moments to change costume. I have appreciated also the good interaction with the audience and the improvisation. In other words, I wish I was there to see it in person. The only regret is for a certain emphasis which I found too heavy in a few moments, but it's theatre and not TV. I suggest to buy it in particular if one's already seen the TV show, but I find it good also for first timers and for many people who should pay more attention when defining themselves "actors".

I bought this DVD for my son, and asked how many stars out of 5 would he give it? his reply was 6 stars..says it all.For me I enjoyed watching David Williams train for his cross channel swim, is showed what a rounded man he is.If you like little Britain this is a must.
