Q Acoustics Q-TV2 2.1 Home Cinema System

I am very particular about quality of sound and picture, and I was not happy with the standard sound output of my 42" flat screen TV. As I do with every purchase, I researched and read dozens of reviews. I wanted quality sound but also easy installation and neat and tidy. So after much deliberation I went for the Q Acoustics Q-TV2 2.1 System.I am delighted with it. The Sound is excellent and the unit fits easily and really looks neat and tidy. I love it.The reviews were actually very close and accurate to what I found, very helpful too. I had it connected first with the Headphone jack, which was OK, was able to control volume with the TV remote, but the sound was slightly hissy, but think this was more to do with the quality of socket and cable than the unit, because when I plugged in my iPod, the sound was excellent.So I decided to try the Toslink audio connection. I purchased quality lead and the sound difference is brilliant. Absolutely no hiss, crystal clear sound, excellent volume levels, the only thing is I have to use the supplied volume control, but it's very good and adjusts the volume in good increments.Overall great product and at a very good price.

I bought this after becoming increasingly unhappy with the tinny sound on my new thin LED TV. I did not want to be cluttered with cables and speakers around the room and on spotting this device it seemed to be the answer. I have had it now for about 6 months and am extremely pleased. It only misses out on 5 stars because of the need to use a dedicated remote ( supplied) rather than being able to control by the TV remote. ( I bought a decent digital cable rather than use the headphone output which to my ear provided a slightly improved sound)The unit is very discrete and is very well made. I found the fitting to be very straightforward, but best done with the help of an assistant purely because once the unit is on the back of the TV the whole unit is quite heavy. The fitting kit is very comprehensive and there is a decent amount of adjustment. Do look out for ensuring access to all the inputs when making the adjustments.As for the sound. If you are looking for big booming bass this is not for you. The sound given is very natural and a huge leap over the TV sound. There is a whole range of sound particularly at the bottom end that was simply lost in the TV that is now revealed. Films are much more engaging and music improved beyond measure. The volume is more than adequate for sensible home use and with the TV settings displays a great deal of variation eg sports and music etc.All in all I am extremely pleased and would strongly suggest consideration of this product if you want a quality discrete product that gives substantial sonic improvement.

I knew the missus wouldn't put up with the trailing wires of a 5.1 (or conventional 2.1) system, so the Q-TV2 which hides away on the back of the TV, with just those little speakers visible (and barely noticeable) on the sides of the TV seemed a good option.Reviews were positive, so when I saw it for a good price, I went for it.Fitting was a doddle, the fitting kit is extensive and it probably took all of 10 minutes to get it installed single handed.Sound is a huge improvement over the Panasonic's standard speakers with dramatically improved bass, but even conversations are clearer.However, things aren't 100% rosy, which is probably more Panasonic's fault than Q Acoustics.The headphone cable is the 'recommended' approach and the one I've gone for, but my TV doesn't mute the speaker volume when you plug the headphones in, as you'd expect, rather provides a separate headphone volume control tucked away on an obscure menu, making it a pain to adjust volume (and the speakers exacerbate the annoying habit TV companies of having different volumes between programmes and ads and programmes).I dabbled with the optical input, but my TV doesn't have an optical output, so it had to come from the Virgin Cable box - it worked well enough, but when switching from cable to Terrestial TV (As we do often as we get London BBC local news on Cable which doesn't cover where we actually live!) the sound continued from the Cable box, so it wasn't really a perfect solution.Otherwise, the Q-TV2 is an unobtrusive way to improve the speakers on your TV, although I'm not sure it's great value for money for my use.If you're a regular film/DVD/Bluray viewer stuck with the standard TV speakers and no option to go for a big sound system then you'd probably really appreciate the difference though.

This has made such a difference to our 40 inch tv the sound quality is good,there are several ways to set it up and you can use a separate control that comes with it but we use it with our sky control...the sound does not need to be turned up very high for example if your used to say level 15 you will need it lower to have the same loudness..its a clear sound though and we set it up within an hour using the brackets provided.postage was rapid from amazon and was well packed.

I have a samsung 32inch and the speakers and sound are poor. I decided on this product as I didn't fancy taking up my wooden floor and dealing with the cables of a 5.1 surround sound properly.As a product it is well made, fits beautifully and easily. The sound improved dramatically when compared to the tv speakers. To give an example, I watch programmes via sky HD at level 12 on the samsung. With the Q-TV2 this goes down to 4-6.My main gripe is the delay or lip synch. I always feel this is out by a fraction but then again my wife and friends barely notice so maybe this is just me. I have set the delay with the remote but still feel it isn't 100%.
