I have owned many teapots that have either easily broken or were unsuitable
I use this for loose green tea that I have imported from Taiwan. Don't know how I ever managed without it. I have owned many teapots that have either easily broken or were unsuitable. This is quite sturdy and has taken a few knocks without a scratch. The filter sits just a fraction off the bottom and is easily removed. It pours perfectly and does not drip. There are different sizes, mine is 450ml, perfect for one person. Cleans easily and looks really nice. Highly recommended.

Highly Recommended
Perfect little glass teapot, holds about 2 1/2 cups of tea. I use mine for loose leaf herbal tea and it functions as it should, easy to clean and looks beautiful. The lid will need holding when pouring otherwise it will fall as there is no lip to keep in place, the spout does not drip and it is weighted nicely. It is a light weight teapot and the handle is big enough to grip with a hand rather than a finger. The metal insert just pulls out so you can use for the unfurling flower teas, which by the way really set the teapot off. Arrived before due date and packaged in a small cardboard box and bubble wrap and a tape saying 'fragile' around it. I highly recommend.

Cute little pot
Cute little pot. Great for brewing herbal tea. Possible to get two mugs out of it. The only reason I've not given it five stars is that it seems quite delicate, time will tell.

small and precious
This kettle is wonderfully small, round and when you switch it on, there is blu light as if is twas an acquarium. It is very light so if you have arthritic conditions or tired hands this is perfect.

It's practical and looks good! Perfect for serving Japanese tea for two.
I have now bought this in two different sizes but this size (450ml) is perfect for two and the one I use the most. I highly recommend it, especially for Japanese sencha tea or flowering teas. The capacity is enough for two decent (M) sized cups or 3 small Japanese style cups. Being made out of glass, not only makes it visually more appealing when you're serving the tea but it gives the benefit of being able to see the tea as it is brewing - so instead of timing each infusion (which is essential for serving sencha) you can judge how long to brew the tea based on how dark the colour of the tea is.The glass is good quality and strong and the spout is excellent for pouring. The small spout makes the teapot less prone to getting knocked or damaged and much easier to clean. What is unique about this teapot is the shield around the lid which makes it much easier to stay on while pouring. The teapot is well made with no ugly joins, it's comfortable to hold and also looks very elegant with its simple shape. The design is closer to the traditional ceramic Japanese teapots than most other glass teapots on the market (which are more western and fragile). The strainer looks quite good quality but I never use it because I prefer to give my tea leaves more space to expand and then pour with a strainer. The only gripe I have is that the brand name (Hario) and the words "made in Japan" has been printed on the right side of the teapot. It's very subtle but it would look better on the base.

Nice but small
Smaller than imagined when ordering but good quality. Only of use for one or so cups

A Study In Funcion Is Beautiful Too
I have used the larger version of this teapot at a local tea room and found the design both beautiful and functional. Everything about it is so well designed. It doesn't drip when pouring, you can see when your tea is brewed to your liking, the lid fits back on even without the strainer in place (you'd be surprised how many pots with built in strainers don't) and the mesh is so fine you don't get any tea escaping. It's also easy to clean up with no awkward nooks and crannies. Being a fan of tea in general and oolong in particular, I had to have one for home use. This is the 450 ml size and is just the right size for either two small traditional tea cups or if you've no restraint like me, one whopping mug. I also can't fault the seller as the item arrived from Japan in 11 days and was well packaged. Price wise, it's a bargain. There is one UK specialist coffee seller charging an eye watering £35 for this very item - not even the larger size either!

Beautiful and Elegant
It's very elegant and you can enjoy the diffusion from the tea bag to the water. It's very light and great for 2 cups of green tea. The downside is that I need to be very careful with the cover when I pour the team into my cup.
