RN Mom Tested: Slim Ice Packs That Stay Cold All Shift Long
I’ve been using these ice packs for about 3 months, and they’ve been holding up extremely well. The quality is impressive, and once prepared correctly, they work exactly as advertised. Important tip: Make sure to follow the directions closely. These do not work immediately. The instructions state to freeze the packs for at least 8 hours before use, which is necessary for best performance. I work at a hospital and pump breast milk during my shifts, so keeping my milk cold is non-negotiable. These ice packs keep everything ice cold for over 12 hours, which honestly impressed me. The night before work, I freeze two medium-sized packs, then place them in my cooler bag in the morning. I lay them flat while freezing so they are pretty slim, which makes it easy to stand them upright in my cooler later. The packs are very slim and space-saving, which I love—but be aware that the corners are quite sharp, so handle them carefully. The bag itself looks sleek with its black color and feels very high quality and durable. As for setup: the directions are clear, but the process is a bit particular. I’ll admit I had my husband help me because precision matters here. One key step is measuring 28 oz of water and letting it sit for a few minutes to release air bubbles (this is important!). You pour the water in using the included funnel, do not add the silicone plug yet, close the screw cap, and shake vigorously to mix the contents. Then you remove the cap again and gently squeeze out excess air before sealing it completely. If you carefully follow the instructions, you’ll be totally fine. Overall, these ice packs are reliable, long-lasting, and well-designed. I plan to purchase a larger size for our big cooler for beach trips. Highly recommended for working parents, breast milk storage, travel, or anyone who needs serious cooling power.

So worth the set-up time and effort!
These were purchased to fit in the 16 quart Coleman hard-sided cooler. They fit perfectly. I put one on the bottom and one on top. I purchased the lunch sizes for the sides. Once the set-up is done, and they are frozen, they are easy to use and keep your cooler COLD! They work well! SET-UP: you have to fill them up with a specific amount of water. You need to use the funnel (comes with one) to fill them up. You should measure out the correct amount of water to fill them, but I have filled these in other sizes and once you've done it enough times you know about when to stop. If you aren't experienced with when to stop, then definitely measure out what you need so you have enough in there and don't overfill. Once they are filled with water, you squeeze a stopper in the top and close it tight all the way. The stopper can be difficult to push in, but make sure it's down as far as you can get it before trying to put on the cap. Then put them in the freezer FLAT. Unless you are looking to purposely shape them, keep them flat for best use once frozen. They were frozen by next morning and ready to go. USE: I put two of these and two lunch size in a hard-sided cooler and they kept the items cold for 36 hours. Impressive. They were about half to 2/3rds melted when I put them back in the freezer, flat again, and then next morning, again they were ready to use. TIPS: 1. If you have an extra freezer in your basement or garage, I would keep these in various sizes in there for use in coolers. I also have the largest size that I put in a big Trader Joes soft sided cooler bag for car trips as well. I have packed groceries in and drove 7 hours and popped them in the fridge when got to destination and everything was fridge cold still. 2. If you have a better funnel, use that. The one it comes with is small and flimsy, but works. PROS: THEY WORK!! Enough said! Worth the price - which is decent - and effort to set up! Save you money on purchasing food on the road. Have healthy foods from home without the restaurant, convenience store up charge! CONS: You have to put in a little work to get them "made" and they need to go into the freezer for 24 hours (will be ready in less if needed but plan on at least 24), so don't buy these last minute. Prepare for their use. They can take up room in your freezer and get in the way, so best if you have a separate extra freezer to store them in.

Omg these things are so cold, it hurts to touch them!
I recently took my full size refrigerator out of my business, but still wanted to get my Amazon fresh groceries delivered at work, since my home isn't in the delivery range. That also means the food is already thawing for an hour before it gets delivered. So, I needed better cooler bags and reusable ice packs that could stay cold for 10 hours before getting the food delivered, and then hold up for another few hours before getting the food home (another 3-4 hours, so the ice stayed mostly frozen for almost 14 hours in these bags). I bought these ice packs after reviewing every product on Amazon, and I got the Titan insulated bags. I avoided ordering things like ice cream or frozen waffles, because I've noticed those don't arrive frozen by the time they deliver the groceries. I mainly ordered frozen meals, mini pizzas and refrigerated stuff. The food was still frozen when I got home! The only thing that thawed were some frozen french toast sticks (I took stuff like that out of their boxes because I figured it would help keep them cold better if they had direct contact to the ice). The refrigerated stuff was plenty cold still too. These ice packs get so cold that it almost burns your hand to touch them. They stay cold for a lot longer than my thin blue ice packs of various brands. They freeze in a nice thin shape, seem to have excellent build quality, and are a great size. I wanted more small ice packs rather than one large one so I could make sure all of the food had ice on almost all sides of it. They actually weigh quiet a bit, which is probably why they can stay frozen longer than the cheaper ice packs that I have. I was really hesitant at first to get these because of the cost, and having to fill them with water myself, but I am so happy that I did! They were easy to set up and do a great job. We actually have power outages pretty regularly and I feel more confident that my frozen food will stay frozen longer with these in the freezer. When you are squeezing the air out of the pouch, after adding water, you can see the material inside the pouch is a light blue color. After it sets for a few minutes it becomes gel inside. So far only the edges thaw out after 14 hours of use. And it does seem to help if they have a full 24 hours to re-freze after use (as opposed to 12).

Pretty Good, way better than regular ice for hot days!
When I ordered these with the "some assembly required", I was prepared to be really irritated that I had to do the work to save them the money. But what I found was, it was actually fun putting it together and I was afraid of potential leaks, but out of the 5 I ordered (lunch size), all have had no issues whatsoever, which is surprising as I am not the IKEA assembly guy at all. I expected it would fail and it didn't.... not one drop spilled. The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 (should really be 4.3 ish) is their claims of 8 hours of "as cold as ice". That may be the case if you are using them at room temp, but I bought them to keep beers cold for a 4-5 hour golf round in 95 degrees and for that, it worked, but was dying after 4 hours and the beer was maybe 40 degrees... I prefer 34-36 degrees. Yes I am a beer prima donna. Skeptical on the 8 hour claim, and that is why I did not give 5 stars. But for what I needed, it worked great!!! Maybe the larger versions were the 8 hour ones. Meh. But these things coming out of a very cold freezer will burn your hands, be very careful! They are so flipping cold! Protect your hands if using a very cold freezer or you may get frostbite. If you doubt the colder than ice claim, put it in a deep freezer and lose a few fingers if you are not careful taking it out... Overall, no issues at all with the lunch size pack of 5. Durable, convenient, and definitely way better than ice, and other non-ice solutions we have used. And for me and my wife the money was well spent for sure. For 5 stars, and this is not just for this product, promise less and deliver a bit more. But this is pretty awesome compared to a lot of other products we have tried. We are considering the larger versions, based on the performance of the smaller items and may update this review based on that. May yet get 5 stars, we will see. 8.8/10 Have recommended to friends and family. Place this in the best triple walled cooler and you may have a cold beer next week... or at least a 40 degree beer....

Stayed ice frozen for 3-4 days
Bought these for a long road trip. 5 days to be exact. They say in our igloo ice chest and stayed frozen for about 3-4 days. Keeping our food chilled. It was way better than ice. I do recommend you follow the instructions closely. One of my bags is big and takes up space. Seals nicely. No leaks.

Great for keeping meds cool, stay frozen for flights
Technically speaking, I'm not convinced these packs would be capable of keeping things chilled for a full 48 hours. BUT they do say 24-48 hours, so I'm not deducting a star for that reason. I recently purchased these and used 2 in combination in an icemule jaunt to take refrigerated medication on a long flight followed by a drive before we'd reach refrigeration again. All told, I needed something could 1) stay frozen through TSA, and 2) keep my meds cool for 18 hours+. This system worked perfectly! All of my meds remained perfectly cold. The packs were slushy after 18 hours (including 90 degree temps for a few of those hours, BTW), but still plenty cold. Throughout our trip, we'd just pop the packs in the freezer of whatever rental we were in to have them ready for the next day. They worked reliably, including during long road trips in 90 degree weather. We only had one hiccup along the way when a hotel's minibar fridge/freezer apparently wasn't cold enough to refreeze them. Luckily, their kitchen agreed to pop them in their freezer while we were out sightseeing for a bit. We were back 3 hours later and had partially frozen packs--they do freeze pretty quickly. Our return flight was delayed, we missed our shuttle, etc, yet we still returned home with cold med in hand. Though I never had an issue with my meds freezing while next to the packs, others have mentioned it could happen. Twice when on longer road trips from one location to the next, our ground beef actually froze when between the packs! So, do take care if this is a concern. We've had to travel with refrigerated meds in the past, and these packs in combo with the icemule were by far the best system and most reliable. Won't hesitate to use them again!

Great Fit!
I bought these to use in the Yeti Roadie 15. They fit perfectly and keep the contents COLD. Filling them is easy and shouldn't prevent you from buying them. I love them!

Go for the hard sided, these flexible "bags" tear or break too easily.
Break and leak too easily. I liked these when I originally got them. They keep things nice and cold. However, one developed a leak really quickly. I don't know where the "cut" came from. It was not coming out the lid. The flexible "ness" of the material might be the culprit. The mylar type material it is made from should be thicker and backed up with possibly a mesh inner lining. So that it does not "tear" or "break". It has happened out of the blue with all of the ones I purchase. Originally, I thought it was just a defect in one and threw it out. But quickly in a few months' time 6 of 6 are no longer usable because of the leaking of the "ice" material. Going to the hard side ones that should solve that issue.
