Sheath sucks, knife is damn near perfect for EDC
This knife is extremely high quality and perfect for a small edc fixed blade. CRKT has been knocking it out of the park lately. I made my own sheath, the one that came with it sort of sucks and didn’t make me want to carry the knife

Worthless sheath without mod.
Well. As many here said. The sheath isn't good. When used with clip, it is very uncomfortable in all positions and it interferes access to front or rear pocket, which every handyman needs access to. I just happen to have a belt loop kit on me that I bought for another project and added it to the sheath. Now in scout carry position, it not only allow unobstructed access into all my pockets, it is more concealable and deployment and sheathing actually improved dramatically. Edit: After carrying a few days in scout position, this has become my favorite handyman knife. I have many other knives but this is the one I carry for daily work. It works well cutting boxes and packaging of all sorts. Have not tried it on chisel mode yet.

The knife itself is great! The blade is thick and sturdy, it works well even as a pry bar, and the chisel tip comes in handy quite a bit. It's definitely a work horse! Being D2 steel though, I'd say it's best to oil the blade a bit every now and then to prevent corrosion. Mine has formed a couple spots over time from not doing this enough. As far as the sheath goes, I don't mind it in the pocket as it is very thin. Even with it being a little wide, still very comfortable as long as it's the only thing in that pocket. My biggest gripe is the pocket clip. It sticks out fairly far and gets snagged on things a lot. I actually accidentally broke it off once and requested a replacement from CRKT. They sent me a new one at no cost! Fantastic customer service aside, it would have been nice of that never happened in the first place. On the topic of downsides, the front tip doesn't come as sharp as the main edge. This is mildly bothersome being the hardest part of the knife to sharpen (at least if you are trying to use a fixed angle sharpening kit). I'll need to invest in a decent stone or two at some point to make sharpening this knife easier. Overall, the CRKT RAZEL Fixed Blade is a great everyday/everything knife for the money and at a price that I don't mind beating it up a little.

nice knife my new favorite
i like it. im used to my tops knivex which are great bit crazy thick so hard to keep sharp and use for eating food. i carry a knife at all times and this one seems to fit my needs. cut a loaf of sourdough and spread butter worked great. also opened a package also worked well. tested chisel edge on plywood corner and it easily shaved corner down evenly leaving consistent chamfered edge. im not a woodworker but good to know itll work. also like the raised edge on handle for a hammer. i use knife to seperate frozen meat works great! update..made a leather sheath took maybe 30 minutes. way better. used it everyday. great for food prep vegetables cabbage steak etc..also cut 8 oz leather easy like a razor. cut bags hoses zipties etc. i love this knife. best part is itll cut fluffy loaf of bread very well. i always lick blades clean while eating. just have to keep reminding myself to watch chisel tip and edge. it is literally a razor!! lol

Love it
Love mine I have had it over a year maybe 2 and use it every day on the farm and at work it is my edc. Note* it will rust in ocean and gulf water so keep it clean there. Otherwise it has never failed me. LOVE MINE

Great utility knife, except for the sheath!
“Great knife, except for the sheath.” This is what pretty much everyone says. Which is why I ended giving it a 4 Star, because IMO the sheath is about useless in it’s original form. I tried the pocket carry, but it sits so low in my pocket I ended up cutting my pants… I also didn’t like the fact I couldn’t get a full grip on the knife until it was out of the sheath. So I spend about an hour, cutting, sanding, and drilling a new hole (so I could attach a belt loop off my CRKT Minimalist knife). Now I can wear they knife “Scout Carry” at the front center line. It disappears under a T-shirt, can be set up for R or L handed draw, and is still accessible by the off hand. I also molded in a nice thumb push at the top, so I don’t have to yank the knife out. I can just grab it, and put a little pressure with my thumb and it pops right out. If it had come with a sheath like this, it would have gotten 5 Stars from me. I hope this helps.

Wasn’t sure if this would be useful day to day but I have to say that this blade shape has so many uses! From scraping to cutting it has been my go to for some hard use tasks and it’s still really sharp. Hats off to CRKT for this one.

Schade.
