Worst £15.49 I’ve ever spent
First time using it the plastic stem attached to the suction cup snapped off did try to super glue it but as soon as pressure was applied to the handle snapped again😱😱Pity really because after struggling to hold it firmly on the worktop - it took two of us - the cutting of the beans looked good. Back to cutting by hand - can’t do with the hassle.Thought it would make things easier but has managed to complicate them even more.Would send it back but have binned the box and wrapping should have known better!

Is it up to the job.
The product works well but the suctiom pad is not sufficient to keep it in place, I found the best way was to clamp it to a table (quick release clamps from a DIY store do the trick), that way you can get through A hill of beans at one session.

Cheep and cheerful
I've had this quite a while now and have deliberately not reviewed it until I had used it sufficiently. In the good old days my mum had a wonderful metal runner bean slicer that looked a lot like this so I was hoping that this would perform at least as well being that technology has moved on in 50 years. Although the slicer works I am rather disappointed with it. There are two slots to insert the beans as you turn the handle. Even the large slot is not really wide enough to accept a fully grown runner bean without slicing some of the knobbles off with a knife. Furthermore, the single big sucker on the base doesn't really give enough support and the whole thing wiggles as you turn the handle. Yes it's cheap and plasticy and it works, but high quality this is not. You pays your money and you takes your choice. In view of the low price many people will be happy with this, but for me; I will carry on looking for a strong four-suckered metal one like my mum used to have.

Bean Slicer super effective!
Very pleased with the bean slicer. It is very efficient and also easy to clean. Practical and what’s known as a good buy!

Disappointing waste of money
Cuts beans into tiny pieces, very slow operation. I needed to use one hand to hold the item firmly on the work surface. Sorry, I thought it was a waste of money.

Thoroughly useless gadget - you're better off with a sharp knife!
I wish I had read the other reviews before purchasing - this is easily the least useful kitchen gadget I have ever owned. I had hoped for similar results to an old one that we used to have when I was a kid, but was sorely disappointed.- The rotary blades don't cut through the bean every time, so you end up with one side of the bean coming out as a full strip and the rest in mashed up small pieces- unless you are slicing very small beans, the slots are too small to enable free-running.- unless you work very slowly, pushing the bean down after each slice (in which case the blade doesn't cut too well), you have irregular sized slices, mostly too thin.- the cut bits fly everywhere: it would need some sort of cover/cowl or a bag tied over the outlet to keep them from pinging all over the worktop.I could go on, but haven't the patience! Suffice to say, I have returned to the very old-fashioned method: a small sharp knife and chopping board. Hold the bean on its edge and slice across it diagonally away from you, it is much faster, cheaper and easier than this useless machine. I am pleased to say that Amazon accepted the return with no quibbles.

Tie saver
Great little helper, wouldn’t stick to my oak worktops but perfect on ceramic hob. One comment said beans go everywhere, I solved this with a small plastic bag, handles looped over the back, there’s plenty of room to feed beans in, and there’s no mess to clear up. Please see photos.
