![MUMMY, THE 1-3 BOXSET [DVD] [2017]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51M6hpPp3aL.jpg)

Triple bill of swashbuckling Egyptian adventures. In 'The Mummy' (1999) Brendan Fraser plays Rick O'Connell, an American who discovers Hamunaptra, the city of the dead. He is driven away by locals and arrested. Three years later, Englishman Jonathan (John Hannah) discovers an ancient artefact which he gives to his sister Evelyn (Rachel Weisz). In turn, she trades the artefact for Rick's release from prison and the trio set off for Hamunaptra, hoping to arrive there before Beni (Kevin J. O'Connor), Rick's crooked former associate. However, Beni has already invoked a curse which frees Imhotep, a supernaturally-gifted mummy. He pursues the adventurers across the land, feeding upon the flesh of unfortunate explorers. He aims to sacrifice Evelyn, hoping to resurrect another evil mummy... In the sequel, 'The Mummy Returns' (2001), Rick (Fraser) and Evie (Weisz) have now settled down to married life in London with their 8-year-old son, Alex (Freddie Boath). Meanwhile, the British museum is playing host to the corpse of Imhotep. When ancient magic brings Imhotep back to life, a chain of events is set in motion that will lead to the end of the world, thus forcing Rick and Evie to dust-off their mummy-defeating skills once again. Finally, in 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' (2008), the ruthless Chinese Dragon Emperor (Jet Li) and his vast army of warriors have been frozen in time, cast in clay, waiting for their moment to rise again. When young archaeologist Alex O'Connell (Luke Ford) is duped into bringing the ancient warlord back to life, he soon realises he has to call in the only people he knows with experience and knowledge of how to battle the undead - his parents, father Rick (Fraser) and mother Evelyn (Maria Bello). As the emperor attempts to reunite with his massed warriors and finally fulfil his dream of world domination, Alex and his family, along with mystical, high-kicking sorceress Zi Juan (Michelle Yeoh) and a rival cast of undead, have to pull out all the stops to keep the evil tyrant from achieving his ends. Review: Love the 4K version - This review is for the 4K UHD set. The movies themselves don't need my review as there are plenty around. All I want to say is that if you are considering upgrading to this 4K versions these versions are totally worth it. Previous BD releases of the first two films left a lot to be desired, while this ones are not perfect, they are very good. Difference is night and day when compared to the old blurays and DVDs. Tomb of the Emperor is the one that least benefits from the upgrade not only because the bluray was fairly good to start with but also this 4k version is not that fantastic so here we have the reverse effect. On bluray it has the best picture quality of the three but on 4k is the worst of the three. I would like to clarify, I have given this set 5 stars after taking into consideration that previous releases of these movies were only available with a picture quality that always left to be desired. This set is also very good value for money, the movies while not being sensational do provide good entertainment and have been a classic in this kind of genre for a fairly long time. Movie wise rating I would give to the first two movies 4 stars and for the last one 3stars. Review: Good value - Good quality

The classic one, the fine one, the trashy one.
There’s not much to say about The Mummy from 1999, it’s what an adventure movie is meant to be, it doesn’t hold back on any punches in almost every category if it’s comedy, thriller, drama or horror there’s even a bit of romance in there. Meanwhile along came the sequel The Mummy Returns which brings back most of the elements from the first one although not what made the original so fun, sure it’s a good watch but it never hits the nail on the head, plus, the special effects near the climax are on the verge of laughable. I haven’t seen the third one because no Rachel Weisz, you can’t have a Mummy movie without Evie. I won’t even bother with it unless I want to fill my time.

My first 4k purchase and its great.
one of my favourite franchises especially the first film all in one complete package, comes with 6 disks 3 blu rays and 3 4k discs so can play on Blu ray players PS4 ect, each film comes with own physical plastic case not just jumbled together inside a cardboard outer case I can say this film looks amazing even today the visuals are still good for the most part except the scorpion king in the second movie he has always looked terrible but the creators did a really good job visually with this trilogy. The first mummy is my favourite it has everything adventure, action, Horror elements, comedy romance all packaged together in a great film that I loved as a kid and still do today, this mummy is better than the 2017 version for sure. Definitely a must see movie franchise alongside the greats.

Great Price, Poor Delivery
I love all the Blu-rays that I bought. I had not intended to re-buy movies on blu-ray that I already had on dvd, but after buying the Harry Potter set at such a great price with prompt delivery. I bought seven of the "sets": Mission Impossible, The Mummy, Indiana Jones, Toy Story, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, and the Bourne series. The prices were unbelievable and they all play fine. I am especially happy with the Toy Story series as I have waited a long time to buy it in the States and can't. I bought this set, and while the title didn't say Region-free, the detail did. And yes, it, along with all of the others played fine on my U.S. blu-ray (well, I just made sure the machine could read them). Delivery was another issue. They did not come when promised. I called Amazon and the were VERY good about it. They offered an immediate refund, no questions asked---except, I didn't want a refund. So, they changed it and resent it. I received Jurassic Park by itself, and as of 3/14/13, still have not received the other six. However, the original box arrived about 3 weeks late, ripped open, but will all of the blu-rays still there. Well, at least I got them, they all play, the price was FANTASTIC, and Amazon service gets an A+ for caring. I tell all my friends to order from the Amazon UK site. Oh, I was very surprised to to see that the price shown INCLUDES shipping, which I didn't find out until I ordered. Again, just make sure anything you order says REGION-FREE somewhere in the product.

Don't miss this one!
I bought not long time ago this item for an incredible bargain price. This BD collection is something anyone must have. Movies are legendary, you just cannot stop watching them. It's true that the 3rd movie is not comparable with the others (I think people like more "sand" mummies than a chinese mummy), but is still a great enjoyable movie. Video and Audio are superb. What else? There are a lot of adds and bonus features on each disc.Audio tracks available are : English DTS Master AUdio 5.1, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese DTS Surround 5.1(all discs); Subtitles: English SDH, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese, Traditional Mandarin (all discs). Enjoy.

This is for the DVD collection: #1: This movie puts the original Universal Mummy to shame. It's been turned into a swashbuckling, live action flick with enough one-liners and derring-do to satisfy all. Not one character in this movie is found wanting, from the mummy himself, who's portrayed as sexy for a change as well as being very much included in the action, to the mercenary and cowardly Beni are well-cast and brilliantly played. Great special effects, some lovely desert scenery, and a great deal of hairs-breadth escapes make this a rousing adventure tale instead of a "horror" movie, which is exactly what it should've been all along. #2: This sequel, while not quite reaching the pinnacle of the first, is still pretty good. It all boils down to the usual theme. The Mummy is being resurrected and he's still trying to reanimate his beloved also. The only way to stop him is by resurrecting another creature, the Scorpion King, a long-dead warrior who is presumably the only one who can defeat Imhotep because he has Anubis God of the Underworld on his side. The Rock as the scorpion king is onscreen only briefly, prepping for his own movie later and his appearances at the end are animated. More's the pity. #3: The title of this movie is misleading. It isn't really part of the Mummy franchise but is capitalizing on that title. To have it included here, the entire collection should've been called "The Adventures of Rick O'Connell." While it is another rousing adventure, half of the original cast is missing. and this story focuses a good deal on the son's adventures when his parents get involved in an adventure in China. Along with the rise of the terracotta warriors placed in the tomb, everything's thrown in except the kitchen sink... Still, it's a good film...if you keep it separate from the original two. This collection was viewed from a purchased DVD and no remuneration was involved in the writing of this review.
