Pommery Moutarde de Meaux 500 g

Have used this mustard for years but now seem unable to buy it from any shop - not even from Waitrose. I was delighted to be able to order it over the internet, service was good and it arrived pretty quickly with no mishaps. The mustard containers have the slightly old fashioned waxed corked tops (the modern ones are plastic) which makes opening initally more difficult but that really dosen't matter. At least they are genuine. Will definitely order again when I need it!

The lid for the pot is absolute rubbish. Mine was a cork covered by a red seal. There was no alternative but to use a corkscrew to remove the cork lid after removing the seal.

I've always loved this mustard, though their black and gold jar version that contains Cognac is by far the greatest. 500g of this splendid French wholegrain mustard will last an average family a long time. Afterwards, you get a splendid pot for pens and pencils, so buying this is a double-win. :)

In the online photo the jar is sealed with cellophane/plastic. My jar is unsealed, with mustard seeping out underneath the wax, therefore the wax is not sealing the jar either. It was not a cheap item. Dissatisfied. Would not recommend. It remains unopened and unused.

My husband is a mustard enthusiast and likes his mustard to come in large pots. These fulfil his needs: he loves their flavour and I give him several of the largest size as one of his Christmas presents. That makes me happy too.

My father found this in the early seventies and we've (the family) been using it ever since! Highly recommended, even though it isn't cheap. Use it with any food you like with a grain mustard - beef sandwiches are a good place to start!

We have been using Pommery mustard for over 40 years... It is simply the best. You can't get it in shops easily any more (why? Does anyone know? Have they stopped making it in France now I wonder?) - so pleased I could order via Amazon. It took a while to arrive. But the pots are the 'old fashioned' wax sealed jars - but the strip of tape doesn't actually peal the wax away (as it used do easily in the olden days!) and getting stiff and 'chippy' wax off the top of the jar is a very hard and long job....needed both a knife and a screwdriver, chipping tiny bits of red wax off at a time - which then flew everywhere. A nightmare really. Pommery changed their tops from cork covered in red sealing wax - into red plastic ones a while back... so this must be a very old stock... Or maybe.... well... it's anyone's guess..... But the mustard seems as good as ever....

This is hands down the best mustard I have ever tasted. It's addictive, be warned! Lovely kick to it and a delicious taste.

1er achat car j’avais peur que le pot se casse. Très bonne moutarde à graines de Meaux, bien conservée et arrivée en très bon état. Par chez nous, impossible d’en trouver dans les commerces, donc merci pour cette qualité. Bon rapport qualité prix 🏆 dommage que le transport soit plus cher que le produit. Cette moutarde n’est pas trop forte et permet de savourer le goût pour ceux qui connaissent déjà les moutardes avec des graines. Pour ouvrir le pot il faut casser la cire rouge autour du pot.

Excellent mustard! Whole grain, delightful flavor but not overpowering. A hint of wine and great for basting chicken or fish just out of the jar. Perfect with any kind of cheese sandwiches or dipping hors d’oeuvres.

Sehr lecker und mal eine andere Geschmacksrichtung für Senf. Ideal für Salatsaucen und Suppen. Wurden in einem Restaurant über ein Champagnersenf-Creme-Süppchen darauf aufmerksam. Schnelle Lieferung. Allerdings hätten wir uns gewünscht, dass man auch kleinere Einheiten bestellen könnte.
