Portable, so take your BBQ with you!!!
This is my first Reqteq I’ve ever owned and I absolutely love it!!! I wanted to see how it performed at the competition this past weekend before I left a review. It performed beyond my expectations and produced some great BBQ!!! This was my first Reqteq, but it definitely won’t be my last!!!!

5 stars, but with a caveat or two
So far I'm impressed. It's solidly built and has good fit and finish. The controller is not as fancy as I'd expect in this day and age. There is no wifi or Bluetooth connectivity even though in the listing pictures it says you can use their app with it. My main caveat is the weight. This thing is built like a tank, but I do think some components are a little heavier than they need to be, and they could have made a few things (like the legs) out of aluminum to save some weight. When portability and is a selling point weight and size should be a priority, and that leads me to my next concern. The bull horn handles are a nice touch and kind of a branding style, and for a deck top grill they would be great. My issue is that they stick out quite a ways and make loading the grill into a tight place tricky. I am planning on making my own handle that is a bit more compact. I haven't deducted any stars for these things, I knew what I was getting when I ordered it, but I do think Recteq has missed the mark slightly with this portable unit. So to summarize, I'd like it to be a little lighter and a little more compact, and I'd like a better controller like they use on their other models with connectivity. One last consideration is that their temperature probe uses a power jack style plug instead of a headphone jack style plug which is much more common, so replacements may be slightly harder to find should you need one.

It Exceeded My Expectations
It's heavier than I would prefer, but it checks all the boxes for a fulltime RVer. I didn't get it in time to feel comfortable smoking a turkey on it for Thanksgiving, but I did a test run on some chicken, and it went flawlessly. It was easy to assemble, what little was required. For perspective, I am disabled with a degenerative neurological disorder. I dropped the screws and cussed far mor then a normal person would, but it was literally easier than the unboxing.Fit and finish are fantastic, and I am looking forward to MANY amazing meals. I definitely recommend also picking up a pellet tube, for cold smoking. Look it up, you're welcome.

Excellent build quality and CS.
This is a first impression review. The build quality is excellent and there is plenty of room for cooking. That’s something I was worried about . The advertised 340sq is a true primary amount of grilling space not with an extra top rack like some other brands use. The folding legs are sturdy and once folded the grill is easy to move around. That’s very convenient if I don’t want to cook under my covered area for pool parties etc.Overall glad I took a chance on Rectec vs the Trager’s in the same price range. Specifically the Pro22. This rt340 grill advertised weight is less, but there is a noticeable build quality difference in favor of the Rectec. I believe the difference is the Recte’s tubular legs vs stamped sheet metal. The assembly is very simple. It took me longer to unpack than it did to put it together. For anyone worried about damage in shipping it would take a lot of abuse. The packaging is bomb proof.I did have to contact Rectec’s customer service based on a FedEx screw up. One of my boxes that had all my info correct was delivered to a wrong address. Within three hours there was another box on its way.
