Don’t Sleep On This
So I got this as a Christmas gift for my husband. I read reviews and looked at all sorts of websites and ended on this model. He has a Pitboss that he’s religiously used, but the auger broke. He fixed it, and then after using it once it broke AGAIN. About 2 months ago when the spring weather started rolling through, he decided to give this grill a go. He’s BBQ’d chicken drumsticks, lamb tbones, chicken thighs, asparagus, and golden potatoes. He loves the control of the heat using charcoal. I also bought him a charcoal chimney so he could easily heat up the coals. Now in terms of set up, I put it together all by myself. There were some parts where I thought I paid attention to detail but I flipped a couple of things (the inside vent and the latch for the handle). It was annoying to undo those pieces and fix them but that’s a human error. Otherwise I made sure everything was tight and fitting correctly. At one point I had to use some real elbow grease to line up some holes for a screw but it was fine.Overall it took me about 1 hour to put together (by myself while simultaneously caring for my two young kids) and my husband loves cooking on it! The space accommodates about 4-5 servings of meat which is perfect for us.

Perfect grill for the park
I bought this grill for Easter Sunday and it worked out perfectly. It was easy to get off my truck and roll it over grass to my grill site at the park. I was able to roll it with one hand while I carried a wagon on the other hand saving me a trip. The grill performed well with briquettes direct heat and given the barrel design it’s going to do well with smoking which will be my next cook. It’s hot zone is in the middle section of the grill and the edges are a bit cooler. It might a have a bit of learning curve if your not familiar with charcoal grills especially because you cannot adjust the height of the charcoal grate. It’s best to create a two cooking zones and use the dampers to adjust the temperatures. Overall it’s an excellent grill if your looking for portability.

Very Good
Works as well as I expected. This is my 3rd Char-Griller all of which worked fantastic.I needed this one because of it's portability. One of the reviews stated that it collapsedby it self, but I tried and could not make it collapse on purpose.

Don’t buy Will collapse, comes with missing parts
Bought this grill for my husband and it’s been nothing but issues. I bought it almost a year ago and because of health issues we didn’t open it up until this week. I needed something portable and small and at first glance it is amazing. We put it together and before adding any meat or anything it fell flat, the latch that holds the grill up is super weak and cheap. 2nd issue which was an important part of the grill because we were looking for portability was the latch that keeps the grill locked to move it was missing. Tried to buy missing parts or order it thru the company and they state they don’t have it. Tried to use it and ended up burning myself. I wanted to surprise husband grilling a steak and the grill collapsed and burned my leg. I don’t understand how a recall has not been put out or company unwilling to send the parts to fix or correct issue. Do not purchase unless you are handy with tools and can rig up the grill to make a latch and to make a clasp that is sturdier so grill doesn’t collapse while cooking. Will be reporting to better business bureau. It gets 1 star because the design great but execution of design or build is beyond terrible. Highly disappointed with the company not making it right or not having the parts for us to by to fix there own crap. Highly disappointed.

Ok but not perfect
Nice grill. Hard to move without it trying to fold up. Mine came with some cosmetic damage. Not enough for me to send it back but it did have a few dents.

The clasp is flimsy so be gentle with that it’ll be ok
Well built if used right it’ll be good

Yes and no
The grill is great for cooking since it uses heavy metal grills, but ..... There is a big but. Unless you are a handy man like myself, this grill will fall on you. There are other reviews that point out the same issue. The bracket on the h bottom that holds the grill while standing is made out of very thin and fragile metal. After I assembled the grill and slightly pushed down on it from the top, it collapsed 😲. Brand new without chorcols or meat inside it, the assembly is so week it can barely hold it's own weight. Fortunately, if you have a drill and willing to put a little effort, you can easily fix it. I went to Home Depot to the section for fencing and got a thick metal bracket for under $2. Then I drill one hole and installed it to reinforce the existing metal bracket on the grill. Problem solved! 😁Pros: great chorcol grill with large cooking area and folding design.Cons: don't buy unless you know how to drill metal and fix stuff. It will fall on you !!!
