EMPOWERMENT SERIES DIRECT SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE THEORY SKILL: Theory and Skills

I returned the book in the same condition I received it. A few weeks later the book was returned to me and my credit card was charged in full for the book, over $100. I have noticed that many individuals have the same complaint with Cengage. I have contacted the Seller and have not received a response. I am surprised that Amazon allows Sellers like this to run these scams, very disappointing, and I hope Amazon will step up to the plate to take responsibility.

I’m a 1st year MSW student and this is a very valuable resource for me already. I’m glad I bought my own copy because I will definitely be referring to it when I do my field placements.It has very detailed information on practice skills and how to perform talk therapy (again, the emphasis is on skills, not specific evidence based practices).It is generalist in focus—as is my MSW program so this orientation fit with my program’s.

The book came the next day, although I am a Prime member. And for a rental, was in perfect condition which is always nice to get! As opposed to a bunch of markings and highlighting. And reasonably priced. Very pleased.

So I rented this for my SW Practice I class and well I ended up having to rent it AGAIN for my SW Practice II class. I should have bought the book. Especially because it has great info to study for the licensing exam. I’m going to end up buying this book even though I have the rental now. It’s sucks that I wasted so much money renting rather than buying. I HIGHLY suggest for you to buy this book if you are a social work major.

I originally rented this book for an Undergrad Social Work class, in the middle of my first semester, I ended up finding it brand new to purchase for even less than I paid to rent it! I am now in Grad School and was required to use the book again and I continuously use it as a reference and source for writing papers. Definitely worth purchasing rather than renting if you are a Social Work student!
