6 Spool Trimmer Line & 2 Spool Cap for Kobalt 40 V String Trimmer | 40-Volt Replacement Part

Every spool was unraveled! Ridiculous. Not worth it.

These are hard to find but once I found these I was happy. Work well at a good price.

When I opened the round tube of spools, two of them had come undone/unwound in shipment. Not a biggie, but annoying. The spools look very much like the OEM spools, but there is a difference in the quality.One spool had several thin slivers of plastic molding residue that I had to cut away from the line area. The spools did fit well and they auto-fed properly. You can see in the pictures the spare caps are a little different design and not quite as thick the OEM, but they did fit.In addition, the trimmer string is pretty basic line and not as robust as the OEM. Since the auto-feed needlessly cuts off a lot of line anyway, I think these will likely last about as long at the OEM string.The first spool I installed on my trimmer would not auto-feed. I found the line was wound way too tightly and I had to pull pretty hard to get it to unwind. After rewinding, it worked fine. Bottomline; these work, but they are not quite like the OEM and they may need some minor fine-tuning before use.

Since it is virtually impossible to find replacement parts at Lowes for this Kobalt string trimmer i took a leap of faith for those spools and caps. The spool seemed to fit but the cap was loose and did not fit that will. When i tried running the machine the whole spool unraveled into a mess. Totally unsuitable for anything but a return right back to Amazon. Cheaply made and LOUSY. DO NOT BUY

Good price and that is alll on arrival one of the strings was undone but that was the least of the problems. I probably got one reels worth of use out of the five. The caps are not locking and both came off and flew away resulting in a tangled mess of string. Other reels came undone with the same result. Was expecting great things but not to be.

I have several weed whackers, all from yard sales. I got these string refills for my Kobalt. They worked great, for the 10 minutes my Kobalt lasted. Can’t blame the strings and the $10 garden tool was ok for the time it lasted. I love these “plug and play” string replacements. Hmm, now can I convince my wife I need to buy a new Kobalt since I have the strings?Note: I have been an Amazon customer for almost 20 years. I have a Kobalt 40V string trimmer, BUT: These spools do not fit it. Check your trimmer carefully before ordering to make sure this is the correct replacement part.
