Over in the Meadow (Barefoot Books Singalongs) Paperback – Picture Book, March 7, 2022

This is one of my favorite book. I bought it used. I found the song from YouTube first and it was just such a pleasant song that I went ahead and look for the book. I also bought additional ones for friends and family. It's a beautiful book with nice drawing, that you can sing or read to your child. The lyrics/ content teaches concept of numbers, animals names, animal sounds, and much more. You can also use it to teach a child 5W questions. One of the best book you can use for your little ones before bed time.

She loves it so much she keep ripping them in excitement when she turns the pages. I wish there was a board book but I love that my daughter is so excited over this book! She has been reading it since she was 6 months, she is two now and DOES NOT GET BORED of it! I bought her final copy and unfortunately will have to hide it on a high shelf until she's learned how to flip these very thin pages. We also follow along with the YouTube channel and read. This set /company is awesome!

I purchased this to donate to my daughter's daycare classroom for her birthday. Classroom is 1.5-2 year olds. The teacher said the kids love it! When I asked what kind of book she wanted she said the Barefoot Books and after looking at several- I settled on this one for the low price and quick shipping. CD was included and everything was as expected.

I like to include Easter and spring themed books in my children's Easter baskets. I already had some Easter books but went looking on Amazon for some additional animal/spring themed books, and stumbled across this one. I am a fan of the work that Jill McDonald has done for Pottery Barn Kids, Land of Nod, etc., so this was an instant "must have". We were NOT disappointed. My daughter LOVES the music that goes along with the book, and the illustrations/designs are vibrant, intricate and so fun for both child and parent. What a great addition to my daughter's library! This book has made me want to get other Jill McDonald books to add to our library, AND to track down other versions of this beautiful rhyme by other authors and illustrators.

This book gives a good introduction to the inhabitants of the meadow ecosystem. Not only are the illustrations darling, but the rhythm of the words and music make it hard not to tap one's toes. The kindergartners that I shared this with enjoyed it and some of them joined me in singing with the CD that came with the book. There are lots of discussion worthy topics in this book, everything from what an ecosystem is to how the different animals that live there each contribute to the environment. There is a small amount of additional information about each animal at the end of the book. The book also has great interactive potential as a call and response read-a-loud or as a creative drama activity starter. Highly recommended.

I love this book! We fell in love with Barefoot Books through Hole in the Bottom of the Sea, and then discovered this song on Youtube.It's a beautiful song, and I like how it's not repetitive but still has an endearing pattern to it. The book itself is beautiful, with gorgeous full color illustrations.This will be a true treasure for our family, highly recommend!

We love the illustrations and the included song. Beautiful book! I only wish it came as a board book so our 13 month old could turn the pages without us fearing he’ll rip them.

I use Songtale books with my young elementary music students in Centers. I didn’t think this was listed as a board book. So that was a bit of a surprise. But, it has the entire song and my students will love it. It was well-priced.
