Perfect for drying my dog after her bath. Super absorbent. Can go through the wash.

I've used a natural chamois all my life to dry cars after washing but they have gotten so expensive I thought I'd try the AmazonBasics towel. It takes getting used to vs a chamois but once the wiping technique was understood I was pleased with the drying result. Read on for my evaluation of the AmazonBasics Towel when compared to a chamois. 2.5 YEAR UPDATE: have had these now for over 2 years and stored them in the original plastic tube. They continue to work excellently and most impressively there is no mold or mildew on them even after stored damp in the containers for months at a time. -- NOT SLIPPERY: A natural chamois will glide over a metal surface. I can lay it flat and pull on each corner and glide it over the car hood and get a nice dry no watermarked surface. The AmazonBasics towel was sticky on the metal surface and when attempting to pull it as a chamois it would jump not glide, leaving water that had to be wiped again but it did dry the surface well. -- VERY ABSORBENT: While it did not glide over surfaces, once you push it over surfaces with repeated passes the towel would thoroughly dry the card hood without watermarks. Using it on the windows was the same result. Repeated passes would collect all the water not leaving any watermarks. More work than a chamois but the same good result. My impression was that the AmazonBasics towel was more absorbent than the chamois. -- STORAGE WITHOUT MILDEW: I was surprised to see the instructions state to store the AmazonBasics Towel while damp in its plastic storage tube. That's bound to grow mold or mildew right? While after many months weeks stored damp in the tube and being warm temperatures I inspected visually and even smell the towel. I saw no hint of mildew growth on the towel. It's great it can be stored damp so it's pliable immediately upon removal from storage. -- GOOD LARGE SIZE: at 26x17" the towels are nice and large and made quick work of drying a Jeep Wranger which is not a small car. UPDATE: 9/21/19. After 2 months of storing the damp chamois in the tube as stated in the instructions, there was some black mold growth on the end near the cap. The cap is not strong and cracks and perhaps exposure to air caused the mold. I removed the chamois rinsed and rung it out but the black color would not rinse out. See the attached picture. It did still work fine drying and absorbing the water. CONCLUSION: For the price of these synthetic chamois and think they are a great value and will continue to use them and with a little more work they are as effective in drying as a natural chamois.

Looks like a chamois, feels like one, it even smells like one. Super absorbent, dries quickly, folds up into the same plastic case in which it was shipped. Size was just right, though one could cut it in half and make it usable with one hand.

Much better than a natural chamois. Car guy here. I’ve always used a natural chamois on my collector cars and everyday vehicles which always leave a slight residue. Was very skeptical to try synthetic chamois , and pleasantly surprised with this. Absorbes 10x more water than a natural chamois, and no residue. Much faster also because it picks so much more water. Never going back to a natural chamois.

They work but have to be soaked wet and wrung out to get started and have to be allowed to dry completely or they will grow mold. A little too small for avg car. Other synthetic chamois I have used need to stay damp between uses and seem to absorb more.

El tamaño es bien grande y por lo tanto representa fantastica relacion precio calidad.

Las mejores toallas, absorben en segundos. Y no dejan residuos de tela como las convencionales. Secados casi al 100%. La uso como toalla personal ya que las de otras marcas deportivas, como void son más pequeñas y caras. Aunque estás solo vienen en amarillo y no se anuncian para uso personal. Han sido indispensables durante los viajes. Además su tamaño ayuda a cubrir barias partes del cuerpo con rapidez.

Replaced my old chamois of 8 years with these. They work really well and absorb a lot of water. Good size and able to dry the vehicles quickly

I used to use "shammies" similar to this when I worked as a valet in a busy accident repair centre. They're really easy to keep in good condition, and make light work of soaking up liquid, and leaving a smear free finish (on polished surfaces). These are much better quality than the ones I was getting from a car cleaning supply specialist for the trade! I've actually bought these for use as camping/backpacking towels for myself and my dog, and they'll be perfect. The sheets are a good size; large enough to get good coverage, but small enough to easily handle and wring out. I followed the instructions and washed in lightly soaped (Fairy Liquid) warm water, then thoroughly rinsed (before the first use), then tested to see how much liquid one sheet would hold: Each will hold around 400ml of water while dripping a little! I wanted to gauge the practical range, so I filled a bowl with 300ml of water, and captured all but a few drops. After a light wringing, I cleared up the few remaining drops with ease. The sheets come packed in their respective tubes, and sealed damp (with what is probably specially treated water) inside a plastic bag. Once the plastic bag is opened, you'll want to get the damp sheet back into the plastic tube... These sheets are really quite grippy, since their effectively made of rubber, and getting them into that tube requires a little stuffing and shaking, but it's important to keep them from drying out. However, it's also important to keep them from going mouldy, so it wouldn't be good to wrap them up tight in a polythene bag for example. These are excellent quality "shammies" (sham chamois). I'm very pleased, and may get some more.
